Sad I missed the listen-through, but I've voted for the first time. *.* The first half had me questioning everyone but then it massively picked up towards the end — some real gems here. I'm not convinced I'll be making it through this round though. I'll have a better sense of what people go for next time... Hopefully.

Greetings from Neliönoir — I know, we're usually very ⬛ insular ⬛ but have decided to take a risk and allow the people to... enjoy... ▣ this strange competition. Terms will need to be agreed upon before anyone potentially enters our capital, Gråhvit, however... ▣

I thought the execution was pretty perfect considering how little time you have in an episode vs how long you spend with characters in a video game. The way they clearly managed to make non-players of the game feel something for Sam and Henry in just 50 minutes is impressive.

To think we got this and Kelela in the same week? Whew. Her world-building is so rich in detail — the way she's created an album with this much sonic variety and yet it all sounds essential and perfectly placed. It's warm and dense... but also airy and effortless. It's probably the first album that has really nailed the early noughties references in a way that sounds true to them but also as something new and interesting. It's all just incredibly difficult to do and get right. I really do think it is going to be one of those classic pop albums we're lucky to get annually.

Oh wow. This is the best thing she’s done since NFR! Fantastic.

The production. Perfection. The first incredible album of the year — it feels comforting to know there is probably another one coming next week.

I'll never understand labels that do this with artists that are clearly not going to be breaking into the mainstream anytime soon. She could have released multiple projects and toured them (£££) at this point.
