  1. This season is just not clicking for me. It feels soulless and too by the numbers — the editing doesn’t help. Crown Sasha already.

  3. Union of equals, remember! Disgusting.
  4. @1615040828191146008 Does cross party support in Scottish parliament and democracy mean anything, or…
  5. I'll never understand labels that do this with artists that are clearly not going to be breaking into the mainstream anytime soon. She could have released multiple projects and toured them (£££) at this point.

  7. The editing in this episode… Whiplash.
  8. Think y’all need to buy yourself some flowers x
  9. I love the spoken-word verses and the middle eight... but that chorus? Choices were made.
  10. This is a hit, girls. It's understated but effortless — clearly going to be an absolute earworm.
  11. This is the best thing she has done in years... I didn't know she still had it in her. It's refreshing to hear her clever/strange Shakira lyricism again — she hasn't pushed her writing like this in a long time.

  13. I can only really mimic the experiences a lot of people in this thread have had — I was fairly passive as a teen and would have probably called myself a liberal. I shifted more to the left as the years went by after I became more engaged with the news and politics online. This all led to unexpected passion and volunteering in person (not something I see myself doing again, unfortunately). I thought perhaps I would tilt a little back to the centre with age and money but that hasn't happened. It's really difficult not to look at the world and see the continued failures of capitalism and neoliberalism. The saddest thing, as mentioned above by others, is I can feel myself not caring and just accepting that this is the way it's going to be. I am becoming less engaged because it's just total despair otherwise — there is barely any hope in politics right now.
  14. Iconic. I have watched it countless times already.
  15. No, they should start a band called Heidi Amelle Jade instead
  16. I would have leaked 'Flatline' (it's obviously great but not a lead single you want for mainstream success, if that is what Polydor wanted) and had the Blood Orange remixes of 'Lay Down in Swimming Pools'/'Entertainment' do the rounds on Soundcloud/blogs (and get critics/NME/Pitchfork on board) to build some hype — and then launch with 'Today'
  17. Anyone with this in their discography is the easy choice for me. zgV3_rlK0dc As an artist, it has to be Siobhan — it's a little heartbreaking to look back at her career and think of all the missed opportunities. She's a casualty of the industry and of the time. 'Ghosts' would reach such a wider and different audience now and it's not difficult to imagine her being celebrated with all the other recent successful alt-pop girls.
  18. The 'Breathe Me' cover is — I hate to say it — pretty terrible. You can tell the production is a decade old and it strips away what made the original so great. Strange inclusion.
  19. It's a shame but the deluxe tracks don't really add anything for me — I'll be sticking with the standard edition. I'm intrigued to hear some of the now though... Any recommendations for some that should have been included here?
  20. The middle eight on 'I Lay Down' is so Siobhan. Swoon
  21. Why should he care about 'helping' himself with these bigots? He openly supports trans people and clearly has no time for anyone opposing anyone within the LGBTQ+ community. Good for him. Laugh in their faces as they seethe — they'll find something else to scream about tomorrow.
  22. This is... their best album? Perhaps it doesn't reach the highs of some of their earlier work, but it comes close enough and is easily the most consistent record they've made. I need more. I can't believe these songs are a decade old — it's impressive just how fresh it all sounds (besides the dubstep-lite on 'Victory'). What a missed opportunity by their label, the number of single choices on this...
