hiya its nelly thank you to everyone who has already sent drawings, please keep them coming, either in the thread or directly to me. i will use them during the contest. as mentioned before, stick figures welcome. interpretive scribbles welcome. faces optional. no need for ai. the worst the better 💙 anyway, so here's how this works to enter you need an eligible bjsc country. join here before you enter, pls make sure your song is playing by the rules via the veto framework. also check your song hasn't been submitted to a main bjsc contest before. have a lil search across the site, if your song has already been entered somewhere or people won't stop talking about it, that's probably a sign. oh and also off the table this month: tamara flores & tourist, devon again and hmltd. they had their moment. it was lovely as previous winners, neliönoir autoqualify. if there are an even number of entrants and persephonia enter, they autoqualify too x aesthetica, beaverdonia & kathaldazia are sitting this one out sadly. don't blame nelly x deadline is friday 2nd october 23:59 bst. 💙 come say hi 💙

Not the Ed Sheeran ode near the bottom of your rankings

Weekend 🖤

Sunglasses, the production is disgusting 🖤 This is why you stan the experimental girlies, even when they taste mainstream success, nothing is going to stop them from doing what they want

My friend just said it’s boring

Not the Chillin interpolation

I think it's absurd to expect artists that freely express their political views through their music to stay silent about those same views while performing them live. It's not like Addison Rae is randomly pulling out The Communist Manifesto mid Money Is Everything though I would like to see it

I think the main criticism she gets currently, and why she's not really comparable to those artists, is that she's judged through the lens of being the definitive artist of her generation. A lot of those albums were really just middling vehicles for hits. If she was putting out back-to-back acclaimed records the framing would fall apart. But she's an album artist who makes hit singles, not the other way around She's clearly hit a wall of diminishing returns and none of these four tracks suggest that's changing. I wouldn't say anyone should take a break for no reason, but it's hard not to look at Folklore and see the rare pause it gave her, forced as it was, and how that reshaped her entire career and how her art is viewed

I get off the train, Hackney Wick I'm sweet fifteen in a weird outfit Got invited to perform at this party through Myspace First time ever at a party in London I'm kinda nervous, kinda scared On a makeshift stage playing songs from my iPod Met a band called Le Couteau Jaune Yeah, I been doing this shit since 2007 Switch up to 2015 Linked up with A. G. and SOPHIE Took a flight to L.A. Where PC Music did Pop City This new place has a lot of new things Different DJs, flavoured cocaine Found myself through the songs I wrote And the songs I wrote are how we start the party mother things
