Video about to pass 6 million views! 43 on the Amazon chart still. Expect the support will fade quickly now but hopefully that’s enough to chart fairly high again this week. Happy New Year Everyone.

Must say the Zoetrope was excellent but thought the gold 7inch was a slight step back in quality from the Tension era vinyl singles. They could just release XMAS on a picture disc vinyl next year…those candy cane tights from the video would look great. Another recent iconic video image along with Padam and LCA.

Yep streaming the extended now then album going on a loop when I go out running. Xmas at 30 on the unlimited chart. Fingers crossed this is a true reflection all the other Christmas songs are way below or gone…except bizarrely for the Bing Crosby Peace on Earth song which appeared at 1 just before Christmas Day and is still top 20. Very odd. YouTube video heading towards 6 million…shame most of the UK views are 600/1 for chart purposes but good to see it still on 300k plus a day.

Weird how Amazon so big in the UK particularly. Shame we don’t have play counts.

Wonder how many are left? It’s a quality vinyl repress so it’s a bargain….but gonna be a tough sell now.

Looks as though they didn’t overproduce the physicals. Red vinyl and CD probably going to be reduced first. Green ones will be good for next season unless they expand it (again) with more tracks.

XMAS is 25 on the Amazon Unlimited chart. Thought maybe it was still on the Hits playlist but it’s not.

Yes she can perform XMAS and perhaps Hot in December next season…hopefully XMAS can crossover to the other platforms. Sam and Tom’s songs haven’t made waves outside of Amazon so it’s going to be tough though Kylie’s profile is clearly way higher.

Yep with a full build up hopefully the new tracks Inc XMAS on all platforms might help its streaming long term. Surely they can’t milk the physicals again with a further reissue ha ha.

Shame it’s streaming has dried up but Saturday’s Spotify figures showed a major drop off.

The country sound was fine at the time but in general dance pop/ EDM/ acoustic sounds suits Kylie more…or it’s where she’s most commercially successful. Golden is an important album for her though, music industry took her more seriously again and it led to Glastonbury.

Guess the algorithm is suggesting it plus it’s the only place to officially stream it outside of Amazon.

Streaming all the XMAS versions this morning and will leave the album on a loop later ha ha. Video so close to 5 million. Fingers crossed next Christmas season it starts where it left off and can rack up millions in 2026.

Hope there’s still some decent numbers this week especially Boxing Day and this weekend. A few more thousand sales possible.

This week is still the Christmas period as far as I’m concerned. My beautiful tree ain’t coming down until early Jan.

Whilst the support from Amazon has enabled number 1 last week it was clear from early December the pure Amazon streams were lower than Sam and Tom. It was the power of the download and physicals, a strong video and promo that helped XMAS Christmas Chart week… and of course a loyal fanbase that motivated each other. Hopefully the vision is a two year chart campaign rather than Alexa spam it to the max one season only. Overall it’s been fantastic and I do think XMAS will have longevity. Don’t think the general public would remember Tom and Sam’s songs.

Anyway I’m sure the OCC regularly alter sales data as historically figures have been weighted differently.

No I mean do they retrospectively record the correct sales where there is a glaring difference between the estimate and actual sales. I know they don’t ever alter the chart.

Yep we’ve no idea plus this estimated Thursday issue could actually mean 1000s of lost sales for so many tracks and Christmas albums…surely the OCC must add the true sales to the ‘chart’ sales in due course once the correct data is verified?
