Stupid question but aside from YouTube, downloading from iTunes and , fairly recently, Spotify how else do people watch videos? I never see them anywhere unless I bother to look on YouTube or Spotify. If the XMAS video is Amazon exclusive will it just be via them and how would that help its chart/ streaming?

I can’t find it now either, strange.

Alexa fatigue hits on the wrong bloody year ha ha

Hopefully they’ll sell out the vinyls and then the CD could be the one that’s able to be flogged.

Just like all physicals, they are preordered by fans and collectors and largely ignored by everyone else. Though once the Christmas number one battle promo picks up they should start to be bought again. If there’s plenty of stock left and it’s close they might have to cut the prices. I preordered the Zoetrope because it’s looks the most special and I didn’t want to miss out. I’ll be fuming if it’s flogged off for a fiver hahahaha.

Yep it’ll be incredible if she makes number 1 with the single, especially Christmas number 1. It will achieve loads of headlines and the media will be up for it throughout Christmas chart week. Christmas albums don’t often make number 1, I can only recall Buble. So it’d be great for a double but hopefully the album picks up decent sales and is combined with KCSQ. Long term it’ll be another platinum album if the streaming points also are significantly raised.

Yep it’s popular but not the preferred SB…Eartha Kitt is plus Laufey also took playlist slots last year with her version. At least Kylie’s is still strong enough for still solid streams.

That’s a good hold so the streams are flowing strongly. Hopefully this week it’ll hold or improve its numbers via Amazon.

Yep it’s best chance for number 1 is for the chart covering 19-25th December. Hopefully the Alexa spam will be so high for the 25th so it’ll be more worthwhile than the estimated Spotify streams…which itself is just ridiculous but there’s no way that can be avoided. It has a decent chance of Christmas number 1 the week before but will need the physicals and downloads. Of course if it underperforms or the Alexa effect is less strong then a high peak and sales is the next best. It’s all a big con anyway.

Well it’s showing signs of powering up now. Could it be that people use Alexa devices less now? Or are they more popular than ever? I’ve no idea.

Depends if any of the other three take off. I’ve no idea how they’ll perform.

One other interesting thing to observe is the sales from streams….if along with XMAS on Amazon one or more of the new songs are well supported across the streaming platforms we could potentially see Kylie’s best ever weekly streaming number. Santa Baby might be relegated out of the top 2 so won’t be downweighted for the first time ever. Also it will help stop it plummeting week 2 and 3. Week 4 will be brutal as it begins on Boxing Day.

It might not even get close to the top anyway. It could be it’ll just help it peak further down the chart.

If they do hold the individual downloads back to the 12th it will maximise any chance of being Christmas number 1 announced on the 19th. It’s best chance of number 1 will be the chart announced Boxing Day which will be purely down to Alexa spam all week. A few thousand fans already owning it physically on the album will not be crucial.

Somehow they’ve made the already widely available YouTube demo even worse. Horrible vocal production. So this is being pressed on vinyl, good god. What a wasted opportunity.

Reckon it’ll just squeak into the top 100. So I’ll say 100 haha. Guess if it misses out it’ll make a strong entry next Friday.

This is just like when HMV advertised ‘Abbey Roads Sessions Special edition with postcards’ and then sent out the standard edition. Misleading because they were charging more too. In the end they sent everyone a free copy of the deluxe edition. Must have cost them a fortune. Advertising basics they don’t seem to have a grip on. Well I’ve a screenshot of the original webpage though to be quite frank it’s just £10.99 so unlikely I’ll complain.

Yes if it makes the top 100 tomorrow I think it’ll have a maximum 6 week run. The week starting Friday 26/12 will be its last potential one. Will need huge numbers on Boxing Day to make up for the fast drop off in numbers.

Wasn’t there some speculation last year about a DVD Christmas release and all it ever was the original 2015 CD/DVD.
