SQ (642k) almost outstreamed SBIT (669k) on Saturday. Santa Baby with 325k almost beat Head (326k), SCICTT on 146k, At Christmas over 62k, ITMWTOTY just under 50k and CICTYGH up to 17k. Christmas Wrapping is 42 on US DEEZER, 89 worldwide….hopefully that equates to many streams!

Snow Queen out streamed Tension too, 454k to 453k. Kylie’s monthly listeners are rapidly rising, over 2 million streams on Friday.

Saw that rise, HMV three for £55 should help as it includes their exclusive Tension vinyl. Hopefully the OCC reveal the best vinyl sellers of 2023 early next year. With the Extension release, should be well over 25k.

Yes the CD and cassette being bundled with the vinyl is a cock-up, but only for chart purposes. Otherwise, delaying the R2 playlist (hopefully it’s on it through December) to run alongside ‘an audience with’ plus potentially a bit of other key promo is a good move. HOTN needs to be heard before and during the promo to try and push album sales upwards. I really hope she promotes the Tension album in the main and doesn’t fall back on the past hits too much. One thing is for certain, we’re going to always have Padam in the set list the next few years.

Casual record buyers should be tempted but it’s still so niche. Only the fan base seem to buy release week and then it’s trickle sales. The bigger the artist, the bigger the trickle!

Them ballsing it up has spoilt our chart analysis hahaha. No proper Airplay is weird, needs to kick in soon to at least give it a chance and help the album at least tempt some physical sales. Instagram stories etc can only help so much. Guess the residency and her public appearances are more than enough rather than trying to achieve 5000 more sales because the market is so dire.

I noticed the GLE was in the 3 for £55 deal too which is a big discount as think the lowest it’s been on Amazon is around £20. It’s a very nice product.

Kylie’s Santa Baby losing out but it’s still added 1.8 million so far in November…it added 6 million last November so it’ll be interesting to see what’s it’s final monthly total is…looks like it’s on track for about 4 million this month. Positive news is that SCICTT, At Christmas and CICTYGH doing much better this year, ITMWTOTY a bit behind but could easily match last year.

The Extended physical sales boost might push it back into the YTD Top 100. The boost it should receive from An Audience With might be enough too. All these Hits albums collecting 2k a week no matter what. Shame SBIT isn’t one of them.

Baffling release strategy. Hope Kylie is protecting her voice, she sounded good on the Mark Ronson F1 gig but she also sounded croaky when she shouted out to the audience. She needs to be on top form for An Audience With. She had to postpone the Golden gigs and cancel that Magic radio Christmas show December 2018…remember they just dropped her from their playlists which I thought was very nasty of them given she had a throat infection.
