Love Tension and it deserves to do even better…back upto 3 on the airplay chart, not sure how long R2 will playlist but over 3000 plays! It’s done very well especially as there’s been no remixes on streaming.

Oooh do Morrison’s stock chart CD still? I agree Tension should have been released sooner off Padam…was thinking exactly the same earlier today…though Kylie has said they had to wait 6 months for the vinyl….I guess they thought it better to wait for them to be produced and build the pre orders rather than have a vinyl release separate. Around 20k vinyl sold at £22-35…that’s just in the U.K. Worldwide could be 40k sold so generated a million in sterling equivalent.

Just played the black vinyl for the first time…really good quality pressing and better quality packaging than the coke bottle one (though that one also plays beautifully). Chuffed with the signed print too. Hope there’s plenty of stock for it to sell reasonably in the coming weeks. Not sure of the original Disco vinyl total U.K. sales but it was on 21,500 for 2020. 13,500 opening week but the Glow in the Dark double came later in 2020…still impressive numbers.

Agreed. They did offer the store only download with 2 bonus tracks for as low as £3.99 (with the code)…that was overly cheap but whilst it did boost her downloads, in the general scheme say the 2000 extra sales generated less than £10k gross.

I knew the market would be tough for week 2 but seeing it just decline more each day is worse than I expected. Sad that PP going to drop out but what a run it has had.

Be good if they gave us full totals…wonder how TARS is doing now that the streaming points mostly head to SBIT.

This is a very insightful set of data. Seeing albums take big falls is the norm now but only 15 remaining top ten is much lower than I could imagine. Physical sales of any significance just evaporate after week one. For everyone. I only ever buy vinyl occasionally now, CD just for my fave. Stream the rest. So I shouldn’t be remotely surprised.

When did the Disco reductions start….don’t remember them coming week one, certainly not on the vinyl….was it the standard CD? Interesting how CD and cassette albums continue to be sold at the same prices despite inflation and will reduced very quickly, especially the standard CD…vinyl at least is priced higher for longer. The music industry clearly takes income from many other sources these days, physicals a small part.

Yes she should reach 100 million it’s holding up well and she’ll be performing it in Vegas and elsewhere I’m sure before the end of 2023.

Oh my signed print arrived with the black vinyl and signed deluxe. Lovely. The packaging of the black vinyl is way better than the Spotify coke one though I’ve not played it yet. Hope it sounds as good as the Spotify vinyl. Oh is this print the same image as the original bundle options released months ago?

Looks as though it’ll be December…if it’s average sale is 7k a week it will do it…given it’s mini boost through September hopefully it’ll stay above that average through October and then there’s the audience with to revitalise the average in December.

Yep the quality of the packaging is generally lower but the sound of the vinyl is great, and so is the music. Number 1 with well over 50k….we wanted even more but that’s an excellent result especially all of the vinyl sold. I’m not complaining, three signed items snatched, they’re priceless. Thank you Kylie x

At least the singles top 100 is well reported now even if HOTN falls short of the 75. Shame Tension won’t top 60k this week, whatever the reason (lack of chart battle, cost of living, less interest generally) we can’t say they didn’t try and tempt as many buyers with the formats and pop up and choices….I’ve ended up with 4 copies (Inc three signed items) otherwise I was happy with just my Coke bottle vinyl this week. Not all super fans are buying everything. I would just LOVE it if they had deliberately held back the pop up sales reporting until last night….but doubtful! Over 18k vinyl as of yesterday is great going and surely includes the pop up data.
