HOTN and Vegas High

Just the Coke bottle vinyl and standard signed CD so far. Hope to pick up a deluxe CD and maybe the cassette bundle. I’ll 100% buy any deluxe vinyl though I hope the packaging is better quality than the current versions.

It’ll be very interesting to see her total vinyl sales this week…perhaps they’ve produced the same amount as Disco because Taylor Swift aside, the market generally hasn’t exploded. Adele 30 obviously sold well but they totally over estimated her vinyl and been left with huge amounts. Casual fans stream these days, they don’t even buy the massively reduced CDs and reduced vinyl usually sells in trickle amounts over time. The fact that new CD albums are the same price as 30 years ago says it all really.

Unless it’s Tension variants or a limited edition don’t think existing catalogue editions available via Amazon etc would sell. They want to sell towels instead ha ha. I mean if they launch or new variants of say Body Language etc they’d sell but they’ll want to create a separate release away from Tension. Must say I have no interest in ‘merch’ apart from the wine and maybe candles.

Yes I tried just to listen to the album yesterday and only started watching the YouTube additions last night before bed. Launch day is always crazy. Disco there was the Times Sq performance and the live lounge stuff…this time it’s YouTube, pop up and pre recorded interviews I guess.

Guess they thought it sounded too similar to many of the other tracks but it could easily have been the 15th track.

Yes they can just let it ride the album wave this week and hit us with remixes or the extended next. Really hope it has a big rise up the chart, along with PP and HOTN.

Had a stressful unrelated incident this morning and it spoilt my enjoyment of the first Spotify listens….I wasn’t clicking with the many of the Biff tracks….anyway returned home to the Coke bottle vinyl….whacked it on, playing through my Sonos speakers. I’m hooked, HOTN, Vegas High, Story. Bonus tracks are great, inc Love Train (why are Gamble and Huff credited, it’s nothing like their song?). 10/10 and Green Light are least enjoyable. I do think Padam, Tension and HOTN are ideal singles. My signed CD arrived too, fully shrink wrapped weirdly so I had to open it to check the signed card was in there. With a kiss from KM, cute. BTW the vinyl itself sounds ace but the quality of the sleeve/ insert is low compared to the Disco variants. Strange they did that.

My Spotify vinyl is on its way fingers crossed for delivery tomorrow.

Looked back to Disco week November 2020; 54,905 total 51,865 sales of which 45,497 physical. Sales included 13.5k vinyl and 6368 downloads. Can’t find a breakdown of the remaining 32k between cassette and CD but someone else may have the figures? 3,040 streaming. Re cassettes I bought the bundle which included 4 cassettes one of which was the double blue. Was there a fifth cassette that had the standard cover too? Edit….think there was a cassette in the initial bundles….must have sold out early because I never ordered one. So just for fun… CD - 35,000 Cassette - 10,000 Vinyl - 25,000 Streaming - 6000 Download - 6000

Yes until we start seeing actual data it will be interesting seeing the physical sales breakdowns. Disco week was insane, the cassette bundle and the signed items…managed the nab all including the signed blue vinyl and standard CD…think they were both released that week. Get ready guys ha ha. That London pop up could provide an epic sales injection….must be financially viable as a stand-alone. Better than agreeing a deal with HMV or a retailer. Anyone know what the space is used for otherwise?

I reckon it’s going to have her biggest opening week since Fever. Would love it to top 100k first week. Disco started with 36.8k first update…ok maybe I’m being way too optimistic ha ha. It’s a tough market but the pre orders, Padamic, R2 gig, substantially improved airplay and more formats should mean much bigger numbers are possible.

Yes it makes hardly any difference what you order and how much…like a £1 saved or something. If you want exclusive stuff the postage is part of the price. If you want something in general release buy through Amazon or HMV.

Been given a tracking number for my Coke bottle vinyl. Eeeek. I’ve avoided the leaks so really hope this arrives early and my first listen will be to the vinyl rather than streaming. I’m hoping the initial midweek flash next week will show very big physical sales…which is why they’ve already released signed Cd and cassettes…they want the biggest number possible for the hype. Rather than sales are lower and they’re panicking about Doja.

Hope it goes gold during December at the latest.

Disco has much better streaming across its tracks plus Extended Mixes vinyl is so cheap on Amazon it must help long term with the trickle sales vs Golden. SBIT that’s good to see a nice movement up, guess it’s mostly streaming but that 3CD is usually around £5 on Amazon too. Given her catalogue streaming is on an upward trend and boosted after PP then a platinum cert could arrive much sooner than October 2025. It’ll also increase the numbers should she tour the UK 2024. The upcoming Tension promo especially Audience with and the televising of Sunday’s R2 gig won’t hurt it’s chances either!
