Sadly I don’t think the physical for TBU was a success - it was limited to 300 copies and still readily available from multiple shops.

She cancelled the majority of the shows plus you could buy tickets to the event without buying a CD or vinyl.

Not sure thats 100% correct - we see so many artists with multiple signings add very little throughout the week. For example when I go to HMV Oxford Street for signings I give my online order number and am handed the product - no scanning involved

Honestly this! The fact that the #1 song on Spotify has 288k streams (RMI) and nothing of note is challenging it - it feels like everyone has suddenly stopped streaming/listening to music. Guess some of it is down to streaming maturing and the plays being spread out across multiple artists and songs rather than concentrated on a few top songs.

She’s doing some promo though - her Banquet album show went ahead, she’s been active (or her team have) on socials and she’s just announced personally signed CD and Vinyl via Banquet. Will see if the deluxe edition and personally signed can stabilize it but guessing it’ll miss the Top 20 atm.

Great we’re getting new music - would’ve loved a Club Disco re-issue too though. Hopefully we’ll get a vinyl release like we did with ‘Thinking ‘Bout Us’

The lack of any of their teams or labels caring is odd - any of them could take the #1 quite easily it seems with low effort to engage their fanbases.

Sales are so low for downloads that’s probably around 15-20 sales maximum.

Ellie Goulding has just released an expanded version of her new album with a slightly different title. Bizarre release strategy so far, not helped by the nil promo and cancellation of most of the album launch shows.

It managed to hang on last year (of course it was a lot newer then), wouldn’t be surprised to see it cling on to a place this year too

Looking forward to the format of the extended first look chart. We’re going to have some weird and wonderful tracks as so much data is missing (which should mean some tracks getting some exposure which they wouldn’t have otherwise got!). Will be good to have a full Top 40 FL too.

Was just about to say this - the UK was always Dannii’s biggest music market as Australia shunned her.

Interesting choice for MOD - I can’t imagine many of their viewers being Kylie/Madonna fans.

Seems to be doing poorly on downloads - they reduced it to 59p last week but it’s currently only #35 on iTunes.

Ah was hoping Loser would be Top 10 today - frustrating if it ends up with a #11 peak.

I think it will be a contender for a while tbh while sales are low. It’s also increasing on streaming this week.

I definitely feel we’ll get a small push - they’ll want to try and make XMAS a seasonal favourite, and there are plenty of KC only had a 3 week selling window last year so hopefully a bit of a push for the album too.

Pretty sure this will be her last with Polydor - diminishing returns with each release and now the rumours (and seemingly lack of support from both sides).

Hope Natalie Imbruglia’s album does well for her - her last album went to #10 in 2021, she has a ton of variants this time, instore signings and TV/radio promo. Interested to see how Ellie Goulding performs with her album too, there seems like there has been zero hype or build up - coming for a Sam Smith style flop?
