Rein Me In back up to #4

Dai Dai is way ahead of RMI on all the main playlists - so I think it’s the public rather than Spotify Hot Hits UK - Shakira #3 / Sam #7 Just Hits - Shakira #1 / Sam #10 Today’s Top Hits - Shakira #4 / Sam #18 Viral Songs UK - Shakira #2

I actually think it’s quite a tame response - if I was managing an act on the cusp of breaking a 70+ year old chart record I’d certainly be doing more than throwing out a video of a collab that happened weeks ago. I think he’ll already be ahead regardless of the video though (It’s only been viewed 19k globally in 5 hours) - he’s been leading Shakira by 60-70k daily on Spotify..

It’s Polydor (Sam’s label) pushing it so guessing not?

They’ve just dropped an official video for the Lewis/Sam collab of RMI and sent it out via text and email to the Sam database -

And did they play Shakira directly afterwards

The official fan page and discord has already started - they’ve made a graphic that Sam is about to break the record and encouraging the best way to support is iTunes or Amazon downloads. Shakira reduced on iTunes earlier today to 59p - unusual for a charity song but totally understand why!.

People have been having a sing-along to it while playing it on Spotify for the past 59 weeks

I mean RMI is hardly a hands in the air dance floor filler so not surprising

Come on RMI - closing the gap and ready to snatch the record for longest running #1

Was not expecting to see Snow Patrol that high - and shocked at Shania with all the UK promo she’s done along with the variants. Will be interesting to see the sales breakdown.

Annual ‘Christmas In July’ promo in the USA (slowly making its way over here too) working wonders for Mariah!

Hopefully Waka Waka gets another boost off the back of Dai Dai.

Guessing we’ll get the Roy Kerr remix on streaming that’s on the vinyl to coincide with it when that’s released.

+5 Sam Fender & Olivia Dean - Rein Me In +4 Ella Langley - Choosin’ Texas +3 Oasis - Wonderwall +2 Shakira & Burna Boy - Dai Dai +1 Prospa & Cloonee - Free Your Mind -1 Taylor Swift - I Knew It, I Knew You -2 ANOTR feat. 54 Ultra - Talk To You -3 Ariana Grande - hate that i made you love me -4 Olivia Rodrigo - stupid song -5 Olivia Rodrigo - the cure

^^ On the point above back in the day a #26 charting single would get you dropped, now it could get you 50 weeks in the chart and a double platinum award.

I think the charts are still relevant and important but there is not the fanatical focus on them as there once was - back in the day there was one chart for everyone to focus on, now that’s spread across the official charts, Big Top 40, Spotify Charts, Apple Charts etc., - looking at stan fanbases the focus is on Spotify as much as it is the official charts due to the fact its instant (and gives lots of data - something I’ve thought the official charts should do, why not list weekly sales along with positions rather than just sprinkle a few). Another factor is back in the day you had TOTP - a hugely successful show where everyone knew who was where in the charts regardless of if you were an avid follower or not. I also think they are more relevant than most chart followers think they are - looking at the OCC comments week in week out they seem to be from aged men of a certain persuasion claiming ‘the charts are ruined / Why is Madonna not Top 10 / Streaming is fake etc.,) - things move on, the chart fans of yesteryear haven’t,

They’ve got 3 versions bundled together on streaming - Standard, Clean Bandit Remix & SPINALL remix. They can probably hold off an iTunes reduction for now as it’s already at #1 on there.

Not sure of all the Charli ones but these are the Shania variants CD CD & Signed Insert CD - UK Exclusive ‘Greatest Hits’ Edition & Signed Insert CD - HMV Exclusive CD - Amazon Exclusive With Bonus Track ‘Moose’ Vinyl & Signed Insert ‘Moose’ Vinyl & Poster Black Vinyl & Signed Insert Picture Disc & Signed Insert ‘River’ Vinyl & Signed Insert ‘Rosie’ Vinyl & Signed Insert Assai Vinyl & Signed OBI Red Vinyl - HMV Exclusive Red Vinyl - Amazon Exclusive With Bonus Track Splatter Vinyl - Blood Records Exclusive Most independent stores and Amazon seem to have the signed art cards too.

Interested to see how CharliXCX and Shania perform on the album charts. Both have really gone for it with formats etc., but Team Shania have been pushing variants, special editions, signed copies etc for ages in the lead up to her Harry support.

Raksu

Stagnant Top 10 with only Shakira and Olivia swapping places

It’s just turned into a comedy meme it seems rather than having any impact on the music.

Football creating the most movement in the charts for months - Three Lions, Wonderwall, Vindaloo, Sweet Caroline, Dai Dai, Waka Waka. The impact would have been insane had we made the final / won.

🤣🤣🤣 I guess everyone is just skipping past all the tracks ahead of it then on every playlist? Just because you make things up in your head it dosent make it fact - every post is continually trying to drag down the song and its success its exhausting, we all understand you hate the song and the singers and are absolutely LIVID at its success. Spotify Playlists Must Watch UK #4 HHUK #5 The Pop List #5 Just Hits #10 Today’s Top Hits #16 Songs Of Summer #26 They are not even that high on the big playlists and Shakira, Ariana etc., are ahead of them on most playlists but behind them in the official charts so your point is unfounded.
