At least they’ll be some chart movement for a week at least with Wonderwall, Three Lions - possible reset for Vindaloo, and Total Eclipse Of The Heart.

I can’t see anything challenging it - I’m glad it’s going to go for the record and potentially beat one that’s been in place since 1953. I’m more shocked that there is nothing that has been able to take advantage of the lower streams at the top end of the charts and mount a challenge.

Always good to support the locals when you’re in their country and would be the only one supporting the opposition

Watched the game in Paris - never left a pub so quickly (2nd night in a row!). Gutted for England but Wonderwall for now forever staying a massive #2 selling single, Three Lions won’t be troubling the top again but RMI coming to equal Frankie Laines record ❤️

This is just to compete and stamp their mark with as the official charts against the Big Top 40 IMO.

RMI over 50k up on the same day last week - think it’ll easily go back to zero weeks of decline.

I wonder if it’s due to the size of their user base now - they have 55% (average) UK market share and bigger in other countries - probably a lot of data to crunch?

I’ve been saying it for ages - we’re now at the point with decades old songs getting reset and other ‘newer’ songs having 50+ week chart runs. Aside from TikTok it feels like there is nowhere for new artists to promote themselves either. The charts are just a retro chart now.

Definitely going to miss ACR this week as there are other versions too. It may as well try to equal the 18 week record at this point.

^^ Agree. As much as Wonderwall is the end of game anthem I think Three Lions if we win will be everywhere - all over TV and radio so would give them the edge plus they have new physicals this year.

#3 Sam Fender/Olivia Dean - Rein Me In This was down in the 20s, the news coverage around it being #1 for 16 weeks seems to have given it a boost.

Is this changing the rules to suit the narrative you want? In all ‘longest running’ #1 lists they are listed as total weeks rather than individual runs, Sam & Olivia will be up there with Bryan on said lists regardless and Wham will be along shortly to beat them all.

It dosent even have to be anything mega - it’s not like Olivia/Sam are heavily do weekly promo and performances of it, it’s streams are not ground breaking either - it’s more concerning that nothing else is showing signs of being able to challenge it.

Nobody is ever going to beat that record - different times.
