I thought the 59p price tag on iTunes and the fact sales are low on there would see it be #1 for most of the week but it’s started to fall (currently #9). Not convinced it’ll hold up on Spotify so Apple will need to do all the heavy lifting if it’s going to be a hit

It’s a chart/music forum where that gets discussed. She’s a big act with 2 (3 if you count the compilation) very successful albums and this era so far is not clicking it seems. Also I think this is only the 2nd time I’ve commented on the performance of her singles?

Oft this album is going to be a flop based on what we’re seeing so far.

Wasn’t Bring Your Love also #1 on NMF?

I think it’s going to have really good week 1 figures - isn’t there 21 formats? And a lot of them have been priced decently (vinyl £19.99 etc.,). More interested to see how it holds up after week 1.

UK NMF #10 is decent considering the usual lack of love Spotify give anything Kylie related.

Not convinced RMI will make it - I think ACR will kick in before then. Equally not convinced Last Christmas will either.

Probably one of Kylie’s recent collabs that I’m really enjoying - major repeat play value for me. Pleased they’ve given it the single treatment with a vinyl too - a week in the Top 100 at least would be great.

Glad the RMI vinyl is not being released until Friday - it’s not needed this week!

The vinyl isn’t limited to stupid numbers it seems as it’s still available which is a good thing! Really hope this gets some playlist support and can snatch at least a chart week.

Went to the London show last night. It was an artistic masterpiece BUT I’m not sure arenas was the right setting for a theatre style production, the staging was incredible but it meant that at times part of the arena couldn’t see Lily and or what was happing (we were in the first block lowest level akin to front row standing and still had to watch the screens some of the time!).

I said it before but FAR too much blame gets put on streaming services. Spotify and others ultimate aim is listener numbers/engagement etc., - if people are seeking out Olivia Dean, Sam Fender, Zara Larsson etc then they are right to give them playlist support. It’s not streaming services problem to resolve - they are just the dominant players atm just like Woolworths were when they commanded 50% of physical singles market, and iTunes in the download era. TV/Radio/Media opportunities for new and established acts feels close to nil so slapping a new artist on a playlist is not going to suddenly solve all the problems. Also they have given HEAVY support to Ariana, Olivia Rodrigo, Madonna/Sabrina - it’s not their fault/problem if the support they have given doesn’t result in repeat plays etc.,

This - there are songs that get great support, however you can’t force people to listen or return to something which they don’t like.

And I think ultimately that’s what it is! None of my friends would know or care what’s charting where, also I often hear people reference such and such song is #1 / Top 10 or whatever as they listen to the Big Top 40. Buzzjack is exhausting at times but that’s due to the fact we’re chart fans, outside of a small group of chart followers nobody cares very much at all.

It’s got nothing to do with the Chart Rules imo. How or where are new artists meant to promote? Before they had TOTP, The Box, MYV, Saturday Morning TV, Afternoon & Evening chat shows, etc., - now they’ve got 10 seconds to make a TikTok in the hopes someone sees it or it goes viral. It’s frustrating when streaming platforms don’t support new music however it’s not solely their job to push it - their aim is to have as many listener hours as possible.
