RMI is down almost exactly 1% week on week on Spotify so far - will be interesting to see the end of week result.

Olivia is doing really well but it feels like a soft week for stream/sales. There’s some big drops week on week too which will pull the market down Ariana -27k Taylor -60k Drake -52k Malcom Todd - 21k Zara (MS) - 24k Zara (LL) - 15k Olivia D (MIN) - 19k RMI is declining but is on par or significantly less than others around.

Looks like it’s going to be a soft week for sales - so many are down similar numbers versus last week so it still might avoid ACR.

It’s based on number of hours watched - considering it was up against some huge multi-part documentaries it a really solid result.

This! They literally have everything going for them as a girl group - major label backing, marketing spend, great songs and visuals, they sound and look great however it feels as though it’s going to be a struggle for them to breakthrough. Plus with the money being spent on videos etc., the label will want a return on investment and it feels at the moment that won’t be forthcoming.

The UK was the last country to have this Top 10 on Netflix - it charted for 20 days which is quite impressive with the Netflix churn.

It feels like such a messy release - I know Madonna does things her way and that’s to be applauded but the way music is consumed has moved on. It’s felt very much like a 2002 single roll out, pre-release performance, download followed a few weeks later by a remix and then the video. In today’s world and for an artist like Madonna who is so visual it needed a big focus on week 1 rather than a staggered release - it feels like everyone has moved on from it regardless of how good/bad/otherwise the video and remix is.

I met her twice while she was in the UK - once at HMV and then at promo recording, she was asking fans if they had pre-saved on Spotify and pre-ordered so I think getting a good chart place along with the promo effort she put in is very much on her agenda. Hopefully it’s done enough to at least make the Top 100 by Friday

Mine were all in £ with low UK shipping prices. Seems odd to heavily promote in the UK (arguably one of her biggest markets too), and have store only exclusives if 0 of them are going to count.

I was expecting more than #33 with 14 formats priced lowly, HMV signing, Summertime Ball performance, and TV/Radio promo. Sales are low so thought she would be able to start high.

Bebe #33 😭😭😭😭 Was certain she’d be Top 5 at least at this point. She’s released 8 CDs priced at £7-8, and her standard vinyl is £14 and special edition £19. Really disappointed it’s so low.

I mean I could give multiple examples of one country being ‘obsessed’ with a song and another ‘not giving a toss’ - it’s a bit of a mute point.

I think they’ll be more of those moments potentially without the younger demographic potentially pushing new stuff or using new releases as their sound overs.

I thought it might do the opposite with streaming - prevent newer songs even more with an older demographic/nostalgia based listeners. Will be interesting to see what impact (if any) it’ll have on streaming and viral moments.

Are the charts about to get even slower with the under 16 social ban? Could prevent songs maybe going viral due to TikTok etc?
