Who’d have thought this would finally after 15 years actually happen

BSW are getting a little too close to the 5% hurdle for comfort. But the FDP being telt to get f***ed is the only silver lining to this dreadful result

Using the coalition builder on the MDR website, only GroKo and Nazi 2.0 have a majority, so that should at least strengthen the position of the SPD in negotiations to try and hold on to things like dual citizenship reform in the coalition contract
  4. Rd'Á has voted

Given the absolutely furious reaction to the CDU resolution on immigration only passing with AfD votes and the insane amount of damage control that Merz has been forced to do since, the brandmauer stays In all the debates recently Merz has also said he won’t work with the AfD. I don’t trust him, but I do trust that if he even started coalition discussions with them the public reaction would be huge

Annoyingly RRG is not a viable coalition so we have no choice but to suffer Merz as Chancellor. Thrilled FDP are going to get spanked out of parliament and that BSW will fail to hit the threshold. Less Russian propagandists in parliament the better. Die Linke will survive thanks to the constitutency vote which is awesome as while their a little too pro Russia they help keep the balance needed for social policies And @Liam Scholz will remain Chancellor until a new government is sworn in after the next coalition government is formed (looks like GroKo is the only viable option as Kiwi is 1 short of a majority under that poll) just as Merkel was still in power for nearly 2 months after the last federal election while the traffic light coalition agreement was negotiated
  7. Before 2022 Ukraine joining the EU or NATO was nothing more than a fantasy. NATO don’t allow states in conflict to join and Russia invaded Ukraine the first time in 2014 thus ensuring for as long as that conflict remained on ice, nato would never happen for Ukraine. And even now, putin can call his puppets up in Hungary and they’ll just veto it. This entire „argument“ is defeated by basic logical reasoning
  8. I can’t get passed that you waited at A&E for four hours for Codeine when CoCodamol is literally sold OTC from a Pharmacy No wonder the NHS is a state when people continually overburden it with problems that are better solved by other branches of the system
  9. Tone was robbed!!!!!!!!! That the tasteless homophobic closet case is against it is surely grounds enough for y’all to admit to being wrong and that she was in fact correct
  10. Maybe they’ll fix that at some point in the future
  11. Oh thank god we’re getting Better
  12. I’m not sure it’s entirely political as much of it is very personal to Musk going after agencies that are investigating him and the myriad of companies he bought and pretends he runs
  13. Why does Russia need to agree to what another sovereign state chooses to do? They didn’t agree to Finland joining NATO and yet here we are. The Baltic states too. And yet none of those 4 have been invaded. Why doesn’t Ukraine SPECIFICALLY deserve the right to self determination and its sovereignty
  14. They never were. Putin is negotiating with his own fully paid up yes man

I don’t really think they have control over much of these announcements given they’re festivals that are publishing the line ups

  24. I’ve seen Cloudy June live! She was the support for Nico Santos when I saw him a few months ago in Berlin. I liked her enough to send one of her tracks to BJSC which I think says a lot. She could sing live and had some pretty good tracks
  25. One thing you miss about the H1-B visa is that the alternate to hiring someone from India on 75k isn’t an American on 250k it’s actually an offshore Indian on 40k. The H1-B visa actually keeps the wage tax and social security contributions in the US instead of that US corporation funding the Indian equivalent. Also, that person is paying rent and buying groceries etc and contributing to the local economy. Companies have been outsourcing for decades. They care about profit and getting the skills they need to do the job. India has invested heavily in IT education and so that’s where you can get skills at a lower cost, win win for a company. You can’t tell a company how to run their business or where to hire people. So your actual true alternate to a H1-B is the company in question sets up a subsidiary in India and hires local talent instead of Americans Capitalism reigns supreme in the US, you have to calculate than in when you think about things. Corporations will always do whatever maximises their profits.
