  1. HMV right on the ball coz mines been dispatched already!
  2. My copy is secured! I hope I got it off HMV at 8:46 European time 👀 but seems to have gone through. I did in the middle of the night place an order with JPC in Germany but they can be a bit patchy with preorders and limited runs
  3. Almost here!!!

Very shocking news! Without him we’d never have had the referendum and have the foundation for independence that we do now However, the last couple of years were ehhhhh. Less said about Alba and the policies he was pushing there the better
  6. The markets are generally receptive to borrow to invest plans as that’s GDP growth 101. much of what is borrowed will return to the state in either income, corporate or value added taxes and at the same time provides new economic opportunities What truss did was borrow to cut taxes which is unsustainable and leads only to significantly more financial borrowings down the line. Her economic illiteracy spooked the markets. Not the idea generally of the state borrowing cash

It’s not a standard storm at all. It thankfully weakened from a Cat5 to a Cat3 by landfall but the wind is only one part of it. The Strom surge that it is bringing with it is historic, the highest recorded in these parts of Florida, and it’s actually the storm surge that causes more death and destruction in a Hurricane than the wind. Many newer buildings have windows for example designed to withstand the impact of a Cat4 with sustained 150mph winds and guts of over 200mph. The biggest danger that hurricanes bring is water, that’s what caused the absolute majority of the devastation and deaths from Helene. Its also an extremely wide storm (partly why it’s weakened) and that breadth has lead to more parts of the coast seeing high storm surges and has led to a much wider storm system that has caused things like Tornadoes even hundreds of miles from the eye of the storm itself
  8. That’s really awesome! Been a good 15 years since they got R1 playlisted

This one looks particularly bad. We have to hope that when it comes out the other side of Florida it keeps going straight on and doesn’t curve back towards the coast. That’s happened before and with horrific consequences This season is one of the worst on record, the warm waters in the Gulf are supercharging storms
  10. Congrats Leww!!!! Thanks everyone who voted for Rd'Á this month and a huge thank you to Linds for the amazing hosting and theme
  11. I didn’t realise we had a Russian bot on the website

After what DeMeo has done to Renault Sport I think that’s fair 😂

Q4 would have been a mistake. They’d have got lost. Dropping something early in the year gives them a solid chance of a good chart place for the album and gives them time to get new material onto radio etc for the summer festival round

Urgh f*** De Meo. One of many short sighted decisions made over the last few years. When the Renault Sport brand got the axe we knew it was the beginnings of the end Renault won the first Grand Prix ever held in 1905. I think Viry staff should chain him to a chair in the workshop and snap spaghetti in front of him until he understands Renaults sporting legacy and if he still doesn’t get it, we force the Italian to eat Hawaiian pizza until he does
  15. Seventeen years?????? Oh good god
  16. Ignoring everything that happened in the first ten contests, for me it would be my second winner Sofia by Alvero Soler. Absolutely massive hit all across Europe but tumbleweed in the UK and US, hence the entry from moi In the first decade I sent 3 UK #1s, but Lily Allen The Fear was #1 after the fact as I sent the demo version a year earlier.
  17. Right? I’ve been focused this whole week on my German language exam (tomorrow at 9am) and had forgotten about the deadline being before the exam and not after

Im very much in the same boat as Rich in that my debut was also the debut contest and so the rules and concept hadn’t fully been ironed out at that point. My first entry was Push The Button. I don’t think I’d have sent it now with the benefit of hindsight but i wouldn’t change the artist I sent for my debut. The Sugababes were and still are my favourite artist and I adore them thoroughly. I am so glad they they of all people spearheaded my venture into BJSC. oJDGcxAf9D8 I mean not necessarily required but hey go The contest was a different beast then and we also had a different name, Fotherington Islands, for the first two contests. It’s only since BJSC III that we have entered as Ashton or various guises thereof. I had no idea what BJSC would come to mean or the impact it would end up having on my life way back in late 2007. It’s borderline pathetic to say BJSC changed my life but it did. I discovered so much amazing music I would never have otherwise heard of and that’s lead me to travel to different places to see my BJSC discoveries, make new friends and open up my mind to new music and in different languages. Ultimately I’m extremely grateful I just happened to be hanging around in the ESC forum during the off season in 2007 (especially as my first actual ESC was 2009!!!)

This still slaps so hard. It’s an iconically good entry
  20. There is absolutely nothing shy about a trump supporter. There’s a reluctant trump voter but those are typically die in the wool republicans who would vote for literally anything on the ballot that has republican next to it. But they are already figured into the polling. The societal conditions that lead to a shy Tory vote in the uk are not as present stateside as Americans on the whole tend to be a lot more upfront and vocal about their beliefs, even if it’s something we’d as Brit’s consider unpalatable. And Trump supporters do tend to be of the loud and braindeadproud variety
  21. I work basically every day from the office but we don’t have any return to office mandates at our company and I think the pushback would be very strong if they tried. Given that I’m in the Accounting/Consulting space I doubt we will see a strict mandate any time soon unless it’s industry wide and coordinated. Knowledge industry relies too heavily on people to upset them too much My boss has a few semi flexible rules in that she generally expects people to come to the office once a week to keep in touch with the team and trainees/new joiners are expected to be in 4-5 days a week initially so they can learn and integrate with the team
  22. Generally speaking it’s a privilege for the winner, that if they chose to take can also allow the next highest finisher to AQ in order to balance the semis, so it would cascade down to 3rd place or 4th place etc. Without the winner it would either cascade to 2nd or to the host, depending on the circumstances There is still two day yet and many people, myself included, are yet to confirm. So I wouldn’t quite be at panic stations or arming the PMs just yet

Im wondering when it’ll come. But im trusting their new label has crafted a good plan
  24. It remains infected by stings vocals and thus garbage
  25. Agree. Would far rather lose shape 🤮
