3. The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don’t Let the Bells End) / 158 points and so we've gone with a predictable top 2 :lol: as The Darkness are third with 'Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells Ring)' which lost out to Michael Andrews and Gary Jules cover of Tears For Fears 'Mad World' in a hotly contested battle in 2003 and it was a featured year on this weeks Pick of the Pops as well!

4. Coldplay- Christmas Lights / 132 points In fourth we have Coldplay with their festive offering from 2010 in 'Christmas Lights' which peaked at 13 in the chart. It was penned by Chris Martin in 2008 albeit still a work in progress for another year or so till it's official release and was rumored to be featured on the tracklisting for 2011 album Mylo Xyoto but that was quickly denied!

5. Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal / 106 points American indie band Fleet Foxes nab 106 points with 'White Winter Hymnal'. Former bassist of Cocteau Twins Simon Raymonde who was head of record label Bella Union was considering shutting the label down until he heard a demo of WWH which gave him motivation to carry it on and ultimately sign Fleet Foxes to his label off the back of it!

6. Gabriella Cilmi - Warm This Winter / 105 points Missing out on top 5 is Australian pop singer Gabriella Cilmi who was riding high with her enduring hit that year in 'Sweet About Me'. 'Warm This Winter' which picks up 105 points is a cover of the Connie Francis 1962 song and was heavily used in the Co-op TV adverts for that Christmas season.

7. Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me / 103 points Going over the 100 point mark from here on out and pop princess Ariana Grande's 'Santa Tell Me' is 7th with 103 points. Released in 2014 and has so far managed to reach a peak of 8 in the UK.

The Manchester duo had already had one top 40 hit a few months prior along with a top 5 album and they would three years later have a number one single with Calvin Harris!

Sufjan Stevens - Christmas Unicorn / 58 points Sufjan Stevens picks up 58 points for his track 'Christmas Unicorn', an unique over 12 minute track conveying an intriguing message about the nature of Christmas. 12. Band Aid 20 - Do They Know It's Christmas / 59 points It was the third ensemble of Band Aid which topped the charts once again 20 years ago in 2004. Featuring a who's who of that current music climate such as Bono, Dido, Dizzee Rascal, Robbie Williams, Chris Martin, Dizzee Rascal to name some. 11. Britney Spears - My Only Wish This Year / 60 points and just missing the top 10 we have Britney with her Christmas 2000 single 'My Only Wish This Year' which hits the 60 point mark. A great majority only really became aware this even existed about a decade ago and last year reached a new personal best peak of #59 after only a couple of stints in the top 100.

15. Taylor Swift - Christmas Tree Farm / 56 points Taylor Swift released 'Christmas Tree Farm' in 2019 which is about her childhood memories with the family at Christmas. It recieved 56 points and as of now has a peak of 44 in the UK! 14. Mumford and Sons - Winter Winds / 57 points and one point above we have Mumford and Son's with their single 'Winter Winds' which just so happened to chart around Christmas time in 2009 but missed top 40.

Water Babies - Under The Tree / 49 points Written by Peter Lawlor, formerly of 90's band Stiltskin and released as an advertisement for Vodafone 3G.. we have Water Babies and their one hit 'Under The Tree' on 49 points. The track first charted at 30 but in the following week climbed another 3 spots to it's peak of 27 in December 2005! 16. Sugababes - New Year / 51 points Following on from their debut single we had Sugababes release 'New Year' which peaked at 12. It ends up in 16th here with 51 points.

The Killers - Cowboy's Christmas Ball / 31 points Not too far ahead of Bieber, we have The Killers with their only song making it through to the final and the 6th straight Christmas release they put out, also from 2011. The lyrics are taken off a 1890's poem of the same name by William Lawrence Chittenden.

19. Justin Bieber - Mistletoe / 28 points Justin Bieber received 28 points with his 2011 Christmas song which was only when Justin wasn't long into the music industry. 'Mistletoe' currently remains having a #21 peak in the chart despite re-entering with the annuals every year!
