1281st ; 21/34 VotesTrain nab the win with 'Drops Of Jupiter (Tell Me'). It was the first introduction to most by the band but it was in actuality the lead single off their 2nd album as they had a US top 20 hit in 1998 from their first album. It peaked at 10 in 2001. The signature strings heard were by arranger Paul Buckmaster who scooped a Grammy for his piece. Outside of this single Train weren't heard of in the UK for 8 years until they showed back up in the charts with 'Hey, Soul Sister' which quickly ended their one hit wonder status over here when it became a long running top 20 hit and is their most streamed song! 2nd ; 13/34 VotesIn second place meanwhile is an.. to this day one hit wonder from dance group Divine Inspiration. Their track 'The Way (Put Your Hand In My Hand') made the top 5 in January of 2003. The follow up peaked at 55 and then another release in 2005 failed to chart. -- 3rd: Mousse T featuring Emma Lanford - Is It ‘Cos I’m Cool? 17/31 votes (55%) 4th: Charlotte Church - Call My Name 12/30 votes (30%) 5th: Eve featuring Alicia Keys - Gangsta Lovin’ 12/26 votes (46%) 6th: Esmée Denters - Outta Here 11/28 votes (39%) 7th: Five - Don’t Wanna Let You Go (12/27 votes (44%) 8th: The Script - We Cry 8/28 votes (29%) 9th: Nickelback - Rockstar 11/31 votes (35%) 10th: Orson - Bright Idea 8/27 votes (30%)

Yeah I already stated in my thread that I knew it was AI not long after confirming. Didn’t find anything else in the time after to reconfirm with lol. Reddit's comments aren't exactly pleased to learn of this fact either..

179 For our visit to Jadakissnia for the 179th contest we are sending our first AI entry (didn't realise this when I confirmed it!!). Whether thats a good or bad thing I'm not sure but I nonetheless figured it was a nice laidback entry and hopefully has some fans.

I like 'You're Beautiful' as well and never found myself tired of it unlike other songs that were omnipresent and was used for as the Big Brother montage that year which I'll associate it to as well being in the same month as that, was a great and memorable series (the Makosi thing tho 😬 ). 'Carry You Home' is however one of my main faves from Blunty though so nice to see it get a mention Chez!

Round 3: Year End Survivor #131
Atomic Kitten again. I bought the Bryan Adams song at the time, nice track and would rank it over a couple of others in the list too.

Round 6: Year End Survivor #130
Moving to Sean Paul now. I like that Boyzone comeback song personally but I'd imagine it'll leave next.

The Final: Year End Survivor #129
Yeah 'On A Night Like This' is up there with Kylie's very best for me so voting that to win!

Year End Battle UK vs AUS - Year 2000 - #19
In the minority of not minding the 'American Pie' cover by Madonna though obviously Don's is untouchable. Saying that I'm gonna vote Ricky on this occasion. A fun romp that is.

127 1st Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor (22/31 Votes) Bagging the win on repeat appearance is 'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor' by Arctic Monkeys. It was their debut single topping the chart in 2005 but first time round in the survivor it fell out just before the final. It swept up with 22 of 31 votes over another juggernaut of a song.. 2nd The Killers - Mr Brightside (9/31 Votes) .. which leads The Killers this time in runner up with 'Mr Brightside' after not long appearing and winning the 123 survivor thus already ensuring them a place in the ultimate survivor. -- 3rd: Dizzee Rascal featuring Calvin Harris and Chrome - Dance Wiv Me 14/30 votes (47%) 4th: Black Eyed Peas - Let’s Get It Started 12/29 votes (41%) 5th: Aqua - Cartoon Heroes 14/36 votes (39%) 6th: Snow Patrol - Take Back The City 9/30 votes (30%) 7th: Tweet - Oops (Oh My!) 14/29 votes (48%) 8th: Tweenies - I Believe In Christmas 21/30 votes (70%) 9th: Blazin’ Squad - We Just Be Dreamin’ 14/31 votes (45%) 10th: Steve Brookstein - Against All Odds 11/25 votes (44%)

#126 1stColdplay - Viva La Vida (21/34 Votes) It's a second win for 'Viva La Vida' but not in convincing style compared to the #25 round. Coldplay recently returned back to the charts with this song as well as 'Yellow' and 'Sparks', the latter which made it's top 40 presence for the first time this year. 'Viva La Vida' spent one week at 1 back in June 2008. 2ndUniting Nations - Out Of Touch (13/34 Votes) Months before he popped up with a bright yellow jacket rapping himself on stage with girls portraying as teenagers, Daz Sampson's dance project with Paul Keenan as Uniting Nations stormed to the top 10 with their cover of the Hall & Oates US #1 'Out Of Touch'. Peaking at number 7.. It makes it all the way to 2nd here. Two more top 15 hits followed but nothing else beyond. -- 3rd: Amy MacDonald - Mr Rock And Roll 18/31 votes (58%) 4th: Anastacia - One Day In Your Life 11/31 votes (35%) 5th: Wombats - Moving To New York 13/35 votes (37%) 6th: Janet Jackson - Doesn’t Really Matter 12/31 votes (39%) 7th: The Pogues featuring Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York 8th: A1 - No More 15/29 votes (52%) 9th: Akon - Belly Dancer (Bananza) 10/26 votes (38%) 10th: Ronan Keating - The Long Goodbye 18/28 votes (64%)

#125 1st Oakenfold Ft Shifty Shellshock - Starry Eyed Surprise (17/31 Votes) A battle of dance acts for the win in this edition and it's Paul Oakenfold who comes out the victor with his top 10 release from 2002 with featured vocals from the late Shifty Shellshock from Crazytown in the form of 'Starry Eyed Surprise'. The track uses the sample of 'Everybody’s Talkin' by Harry Nilsson which in itself is a cover originally sung by Fred Neil. 2ndDarude - Feel The Beat (14/31 Votes) Finnish DJ and Producer Darude comes in 2nd with 'Feel The Beat' which was his second straight top 5 hit coming off the heels of 1999 smash 'Sandstorm'. He'd have one more top 15 hit after this. -- 3rd: Pussycat Dolls - Don’t Cha 13/31 votes (42%) 4th: Panic! At The Disco - Nine In The Afternoon 10/29 votes (32%) 5th: Rob Thomas - Lonely No More 10/31 votes (32%) 6th: Saturdays - Forever Is Over 12/29 votes (41%) 7th: Craig David - Rendezvous 11/30 votes (37%) 8th: Sharam - PATT (Party All The Time) 14/32 votes (44%) 9th: McFly - Room On The 3rd Floor 12/30 votes (40%) 10th: UB40 featuring United Colours Of Sound - Swing Low 19/31 votes (62%)

Same here hence they get my vote. Quite liked that Embrace football track myself oops and don't care for Footie at all!
-
Round 8: Year End Survivor #129
Definitely The Ones this time. The other two are far superior.

'Rock DJ' easily here. 'Out Of Your Mind' I never liked nor liked any of Victoria's solo output and never cared for Trusteppers either.

Don't like Westlife's version of 'You Raise Me Up' at all. I quite like 'That's My Goal' though and it was a very memorable series after not watching the first year and takes me back to that time period at Christmas too as was beginning to get back into the charts again properly at this point. Shayne was definitely the correct winner (that wasn't Maria Lawson who was my fave when she got shockingly eliminated). 'No Promises' is his best though overall!

Ronan for me as that's one of his better songs.
