00s Revealed • Buzzjack's Fave 21st Century Xmas Song
+5 The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells Ring) +4 Gabriella Cilmi - Warm This Winter +3 Kate Winslet - What If +2 Faith Hill - Where Are You Christmas +1 Britney Spears - My Only Wish (This Year) 'Never Had A Dream Come True' would be on here if it was somehow counted as a Christmas song but it's not. 'Perfect Christmas' however is and would be just outside mine (originally a +1 pointer for me). Also Tweenies one would get a nomination for me too :kink:

Round 3: Year End Survivor #101
Will go for Lemar now. I like a lot of his stuff and whilst he sings great even on this track, it's very average and meh. Also the fact it wasn't on that Buzzjack presents 2006 of Rich's either shows it's forgettable oops.

Round 6: Year End Survivor #100
Gone for Ciara this time but it's quite good as is the rest of this top 5!
-
The Final: Year End Survivor #99
Well.. I do love both songs and so will choose 'About You Now' as Green Day only won with the same song about 10 rounds back!

Classic Christmas charts: 2002
'Ocean Of Eternity' and 'Don't Stop' sounding good from the new entries outside the top 20 to the top 75. I did like 'Sacred Trust' tbh but do realise it's very naff indeed in hindsight and it's very clear why GA won out and it was exciting to see a new girl group burst onto the scene in the process. Funny that there's a dance over of 'I Think We're Alone Now' when they covered it themselves a few years later. 'Sk8erboi' my favourite of the new entries overall. What an punchy anthem that was. Avril made a statement with her debut era. A lot of slushy stuff that was passable for me at the time like the Ronan and Lulu collab and S Club Juniors although the latter I'm not quite as fond of now whilst their other singles still sound good to me. Shame 'Family Portrait' missed out on a top 10 placing the week prior. My reshuffle of the top 10. 1. Feel 2. Sk8erboi 3. Lose Yourself 4. You're A Superstar 5. The Ketchup Song 6. If You're Not The One 7. Sound Of The Underground 8. Sacred Trust 9. Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word 10. The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum)

Round 5: Year End Survivor #100
Madonna again. Snow Patrol was no loss.

Round 8: Year End Survivor #99
Okay will go to 'Kids' instead as whilst I do like it, I don't love it exactly and we ain't not getting a final 2 consisting of songs that have both won previously

Classic Christmas charts: 2001
So much nostalgia from this year aside from the lacklustre Christmas top 2. I do like 'Somethin Stupid' though for what it was but obviously not up there with Robbie's ultimate collabs or #1's. 'Gotta Get Thru This', 'Murder On The Dancefloor' and 'Lately' my personal faves in the Top 10, the latter is also one I bought on CD. 'What If' outside the top 10 too. Some really lovely ballads out around this time imo. The Feeder EP is also very good. I've only just listened to the other songs on it the other day for Julian's thread so will be posting in there soon to complete 2001. Dj Otzi flopping at Christmas. That 5 mins of fame was over quick lol.

+5 APT. +4 The Emptiness Machine +3 2 Hands +2 People Watching +1 WILDFLOWER -1 The Door -2 Bad Dreams -3 Bed Chem -4 That's So True -5 Sailor Song Strong top 10 imo. Only the bottom 3 I'm not keen on particularly.

Stars In Their Eyes
A TV staple up to a certain point, was talking about Stars In Their Eyes hosted by Matthew Kelly the other day and feel like rewatching some of these. Did you watch it? What are some of your favourite ones from the show that you remember going into the 21st Century. Here's a clip of one I vaguely recall (not the best song pick though lol) YK6IC5cx0VY?si=WdFSwRoVHDB-22Ro

Pick of the Pops: The Noughties
2005 or 2006 would be good ones to do.
-
Pick of the Pops: The Noughties
'The Scientist' and 'I'm Gonna Getcha Good' are both fab!
-
Pick of the Pops: The Noughties
They only did 3 for the 1992 one as well haha (one was outside the top 20 even).
-
Pick of the Pops: The Noughties
Rude to skip a Dannii tune radio 2 <_< 'Die Another Day' not an Madonna essential / one I'd choose to listen to but it's fine.

Hopefully this can do well Wardy. Just checked and instantly recognise it via my sister being into the Final Fantasy games so will have heard it around the house. It's a sweet piece!
