  1. Thanks all for taking part in all these threads with Scene and myself. Been a great success. Leona would only rank about 15th or so for me oops but can't deny it's popularity. Happy with Kelly, Darkness and Coldplay in the Top 5 and Fleet Foxes track was nice as well, threw it some votes. Gabriella in 6th is great. Would've preferred Britney in the Top 10 over Kylie but aside from that a really solid top 10 on the whole!
  2. Full rundown! 1. Leona Lewis - One More Sleep 204 points 2. Kelly Clarkson - Underneath The Tree 189 points 3. The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don’t Let the Bells End) 158 points 4. Coldplay- Christmas Lights 132 points 5. Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal 106 points 6. Gabriella Cilmi - Warm This Winter 105 points 7. Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me - 103 points 8. Hurts - All I Want For Christmas Is New Year's Day 97 points 9. Glasvegas - A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss) 62 points 10. Kylie - Santa Baby 61 points 11. Britney Spears - My Only Wish This Year - 60 points 12. Band Aid 20 – Do They Know It's Christmas - 59 points 13. Sufjan Stevens - Christmas Unicorn 58 points 14. Mumford and Sons - Winter Winds 57 points 15. Taylor Swift - Christmas Tree Farm 56 points 16. Sugababes - New Year 51 points 17. Water Babies - Under The Tree 49 points 18. The Killers - Cowboy's Christmas Ball 31 points 19. Justin Bieber - Mistletoe 28 points 20. Courteeners - Winter Wonderland 12 points
  3. :winner: 1. Leona Lewis - One More Sleep / 204 points It's congratulations to Leona Lewis who proves to be the more popular of the 2013 Christmas hits with 'One More Sleep' collecting 204 points. Leona who won the X Factor in 2006 entered at 34 on release week before zooming into the top 3 peaking at 3 and also wins it for the UK represented artists in this too. Nowadays it does seem to be struggling somewhat swapping placing area in the chart with Kelly but it's clearly not lost love on here. Well done to Leona again!
  4. 2. Kelly Clarkson - Underneath The Tree / 189 points It's Kelly with her joyous 'Underneath The Tree' which charted at 30 in the first year but has not only made the top 10 for the first time a couple of weeks back but has now gained another brand new peak of 7 this week. A real strong showing but Kelly has not broken the 200 points barrier which leaves us with our number one fave..
  5. For as predictable as the top 2 is, there was 15 points between them and so in 2nd ....
  6. 'Cannonball' was fairly good as far as X Factor singles go and I liked the Yusuf/Ronan version of 'Father and Son' and 'Own It' is fine too.
  7. 3. The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don’t Let the Bells End) / 158 points and so we've gone with a predictable top 2  as The Darkness are third with 'Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells Ring)' which lost out to Michael Andrews and Gary Jules cover of Tears For Fears 'Mad World' in a hotly contested battle in 2003 and it was a featured year on this weeks Pick of the Pops as well!
  8. 4. Coldplay- Christmas Lights / 132 points In fourth we have Coldplay with their festive offering from 2010 in 'Christmas Lights' which peaked at 13 in the chart. It was penned by Chris Martin in 2008 albeit still a work in progress for another year or so till it's official release and was rumored to be featured on the tracklisting for 2011 album Mylo Xyoto but that was quickly denied!
  9. 5. Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal / 106 points American indie band Fleet Foxes nab 106 points with 'White Winter Hymnal'. Former bassist of Cocteau Twins Simon Raymonde who was head of record label Bella Union was considering shutting the label down until he heard a demo of WWH which gave him motivation to carry it on and ultimately sign Fleet Foxes to his label off the back of it!
  10. Top 5 will be completed by afternoon. Remaining are Coldplay, Leona, Kelly, Fleet Foxes and The Darkness!
  11. 6. Gabriella Cilmi - Warm This Winter / 105 points Missing out on top 5 is Australian pop singer Gabriella Cilmi who was riding high with her enduring hit that year in 'Sweet About Me'. 'Warm This Winter' which picks up 105 points is a cover of the Connie Francis 1962 song and was heavily used in the Co-op TV adverts for that Christmas season.
  12. 7. Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me / 103 points Going over the 100 point mark from here on out and pop princess Ariana Grande's 'Santa Tell Me' is 7th with 103 points. Released in 2014 and has so far managed to reach a peak of 8 in the UK.
  13. Roba. posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
+5 Kelly Clarkson - Underneath The Tree +4 The Pogues feat. Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale Of New York +3 Brenda Lee - Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree +2 Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You +1 Band Aid - Do They Know It’s Christmas -1 Bobby Helms - Jingle Bell Rock -2 Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me -3 Wham - Last Christmas -4 Elton John - Step Into Christmas -5 Tom Grennan - It Can’t Be Christmas
  14. 8. Hurts - All I Want For Christmas Is New Year's Day / 97 points With an 35 point leverage over nine is Hurt's and 'All I Want For Christmas Is New Year's Day'. The Manchester duo had already had one top 40 hit a few months prior along with a top 5 album and they would three years later have a number one single with Calvin Harris!
  15. 9. Glasvegas - A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss) / 62 points and another one point ahead has Scottish group Glasvegas in 9th with 'A Snowflake Fell (And It Felt Like A Kiss)' which comes off their 2008 Christmas EP.
  16. 10. Kylie - Santa Baby / 61 points Grabbing one more point to get into the top 10 is Kylie with her version of 'Santa Baby' released as a b side to her single 'Please Stay' in 2000. It was originally sung by Eartha Kitt in 1953.
  17. 'Mad World' a moving track, deserved of reaching Christmas 1 even if I would have wanted Darkness to have done so!
  18. What a dull slog 'Changes' is.
  19. A proper modern classic Christmas anthem
  20. 'Shut Up' is a tune and 'Leave Right Now' is great.
  21. Gone for 'Jumpin' now but also fine with 'Like This' going as that'd be next!
  22. Will resume with top 10 tomorrow!
  23. Fantastic to see after 11 years since it's release and matching 'Because Of You's peak as well *.*
