A billion streams does seem a little low assuming they mean the currently accepted 1,000 million and not the UK's historical 1 million million definition. That's only around 2,850,000 sale units (for singles) assuming a ratio of around 1:350 (for 50% premium and 50% freemium). There'll probably be 100s of artists.... including the Killers (just for Mr Brightside)

For any list of EPs that appeared on the "Official" charts you need to mention that between 12th March 1960 and 2nd December 1967 Record Retailer (the publisher of the "Official" chart) had their own EP chart and so they did not make the main chart (though NME and Disc as well as Melody Maker from May 1963 did include them) and that's why there is no Twist and Shout (EP), The Rolling Stones (EP), The Dave Clark 5 EP, All My Loving EP to name just a few......

Pointless only being at 17 here shows a probable absence of any real sales being included here - exclusion of real sales would've put Pointless at 13 on the OCC chart so a slight difference in the free:premium ratio may explain the difference.

Interesting that tracks 3-6 are essentially stepping down by the averaging value of 5,000. Of course this means that the sales difference could be anything from approx. 2,500 to 7,500 for each...

Considering equals increased the number of tracks that counted by 25%, that's actually a decrease..... (due to a change in rules and addition of multiple remixes/new tracks)

I hope you do continue as it is always good to see what the chart really looks like.

Well that is weird then. We know it was 4 without ACR at the normal 1:100/1:600 ratio. It has been suggested that the revised streaming ratio used by Billboard is something like 1:200 and 1:900 (or 1:250 and 1:1125) as they use for the Global charts, but that doesn't make sense. Maybe the ratio is lower say 1:50 and 1:300 then the amount of streams would be doubled (quadrupled compared with the "official" chart). Leona Lewis was 32 on the official chart with sales around 21,810 (so around 42,500 without ACR), so a streaming ratio of 1:50 and 1:300 would put her (and everyone else) above Food Aid (which be around 45 with that streaming ratio)!

Interesting that Food Aid doesn't appear at all in either the christmas chart or ths one. Presumably because the sales came from their website and not ituines/amazon etc and so were excluded as D2C.

Depends on whether they are released specifically for this christmas or not. For instance I'd have included Merry Christmas last year as it was first released then, but wouldn't count it this year.

So it looks likes the following may be true: Songs to reach every position in the top 10: Officially Last Christmas Without ACR: Someone You Loved Blinding Lights Sales Only: Blinding Lights Bad Habits It may be more frequent in the streaming only chart.....

Yeah, its swings and roundabouts. If a song doesn't complete the top 7 or so in its first 9 weeks it's going to be more difficult to do so once on ACR. Of course Last Christmas would be at 2 not 9 this week without ACR, and may not have reached 4 or 5 if it hadn't been on ACR, but at the same time perhaps it did reach all those positions earlier if it wasn't on ACR... or perhaps another track has done it - we now Blinding Lights and Bad Habits did in the real single sales charts, so perhaps they also did it without ACR? Difficult to know as we don't have access to all the non-ACR data and can only guessestimate the positions if we're not given the exact sales.... Actually looking back Last Christmas was probably no.9 w/e 7/12/17 but I don't think it has ever been 4 or 5 without ACR....

Of course there is the caveat that since 2017, many of the positions are due to suppressed sales (ACR) so that does cheapen the record a little... Of course, The Weeknd - Blinding Lights and Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits have both done it on the 'unmanipulated' sales chart.......
