Depends on whether they are released specifically for this christmas or not. For instance I'd have included Merry Christmas last year as it was first released then, but wouldn't count it this year.

So it looks likes the following may be true: Songs to reach every position in the top 10: Officially Last Christmas Without ACR: Someone You Loved Blinding Lights Sales Only: Blinding Lights Bad Habits It may be more frequent in the streaming only chart.....

Yeah, its swings and roundabouts. If a song doesn't complete the top 7 or so in its first 9 weeks it's going to be more difficult to do so once on ACR. Of course Last Christmas would be at 2 not 9 this week without ACR, and may not have reached 4 or 5 if it hadn't been on ACR, but at the same time perhaps it did reach all those positions earlier if it wasn't on ACR... or perhaps another track has done it - we now Blinding Lights and Bad Habits did in the real single sales charts, so perhaps they also did it without ACR? Difficult to know as we don't have access to all the non-ACR data and can only guessestimate the positions if we're not given the exact sales.... Actually looking back Last Christmas was probably no.9 w/e 7/12/17 but I don't think it has ever been 4 or 5 without ACR....

Of course there is the caveat that since 2017, many of the positions are due to suppressed sales (ACR) so that does cheapen the record a little... Of course, The Weeknd - Blinding Lights and Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits have both done it on the 'unmanipulated' sales chart.......

Don't forget the streaming ratio is different and sales from D2C are excluded here also. You'd do better looking at JulianT's thread "Estimated Chart without ACR" http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=235185 - though of course that is unofficial while the Billboard one is an "official" chart.....

Except for signed CD dumps, the no.1 in real sales rarely sells more than 2-3,000 either so v. similar to the Compilation Chart in some respect (which of course is also purely real sales in most cases). Anti-Hero made no.1 for the first time this week with sales of 2,445; mainly due to the release of new remixes purchased by download.

Again it depends on where the downloads were purchased. If from Itunes, Amazon etc, then yes they would be counted. If from either Elton John's or Britney Spear's own site (or a similar site that Billboard views as D2C) then no.

The Billboard chart uses a different streaming ratio than the OCC. It has been suggested that it is the same one as they use for streaming songs (1:200 and 1:900 OR possibly 1:250 and 1:1125) AND sales from D2C (ie artist websites etc) are excluded.

With a title of '2022 year to date estimates' its not not a thread that includes discussion of pure sales either. The majority of the posts are about the 'chart sales' calculated by the mushing together of real individual purchases and the collective multiple listening/playlist streaming equivalents, but there's no harm in discussing real sales for the purists amongst us. WE know there have been multiple weeks when the no.1 was only so because of the real sales (probably even more so in the albums). Unfortunately real sale data is hard to come by.

only if you include streams, 30 is still ahead on real sales by 100,000+.

OK, i stand corrected it probably is a real increase.... Of course it is the album market that's really going down the tubes as the majority of 'sales' come from double-dipped (or even triple-dipped for GH albums) streams (counting for both the singles and albums chart - albleit at different ratios) so the real size of the music market is single 'sales' + actual sales of albums.

Interesting that it seems to be getting higher up each year. Probably a clear indication of a declining market (despite what the industry tries to tell you) rather than an actual increased interest in streaming of the track....

Interesting that Billboard did not put Lewis Capaldi in at no.1 last week. Were the physical releases from his website and so not counted? Also weird that I'm Good (Blue) didn't climb over B.O.T.A. until this week.....
