Music Week says Shivers and Bad Habits both increased in sales this week!

Except for signed CD dumps, the no.1 in real sales rarely sells more than 2-3,000 either so v. similar to the Compilation Chart in some respect (which of course is also purely real sales in most cases). Anti-Hero made no.1 for the first time this week with sales of 2,445; mainly due to the release of new remixes purchased by download.

Pink Fong and Baby Shark would probably be higher up too as it is mainly video streams that places it at 8 - though perhaps this does suggest they have included earlier youtube streams?

Don't forgot the Arctic Monkeys also sold over 100,000 physicals that week too....

Under the Influence did increase in sales two weeks ago, but perhaps that was real sales fueled rather than streams. If so it would be on ACR this week. Also it is older than 3 years so may have automatically gone to ACR anyway after presumably peaking as they did with Ghost...

It increased in sales last week so another 3 weeks.....

And Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday of no sales, so yes they'll leave the top 40 - and possibly the top 75/100 too; unless they get a reset which is very unlikely.

Thanks for the sales breakdown JosephStyles

Yes I know she is selling both real and virtually but that still doesn't answer the question of how many of them are multiple individual purchases? Normally each version has a slightly different catalogue number (though not always), so you know that the OCC know. I wonder whether it'll be broken down by Alan Jones in his report....

Of course Midnight has 13 (standard) to 20 tracks (3 AM version) to stream while The Car only has 10 so up to 60% more streaming possible for Midnight (as only the 1st 16 count; though since 3 are not on the standard edition, there could be a sizeable drop between the 13th and 14th trrack - again assuming that the top 13 are all the standard edition tracks). This is of course not the whole story as the single chart clearly shows that the Midnight tracks are outstreaming The Car ones, but it is a factor in the disparity between the two.... It'll be interesting to see the real sales and how much of Midnight's is made up of multiple individual purchases. We know of the 4 to make a clock which some fans will 'have to get'....

THat would also depend on whether you count the real no.1 or the official no.1 since Shivers was the first real no.1 of the year (though of course officially it was Easy on Me)

It's an album of new songs not previously released, available in multiple formats by an artist that has a massive fanbase. The big question will be whether it crashes and burns in week 2 once everyone's streamed it/bought it/heard it (probably not... ).

Justin Bieber was the first to get the top 3 in 2015. I thought it was for more than 1 week but I could be wrong.

Since you can't snap up streams, this must be the physicals only!

Again it depends on where the downloads were purchased. If from Itunes, Amazon etc, then yes they would be counted. If from either Elton John's or Britney Spear's own site (or a similar site that Billboard views as D2C) then no.

The Billboard chart uses a different streaming ratio than the OCC. It has been suggested that it is the same one as they use for streaming songs (1:200 and 1:900 OR possibly 1:250 and 1:1125) AND sales from D2C (ie artist websites etc) are excluded.

Real sales have a heavier influence over the first look chart than streaming.

Interesting that there is no Celestial this week. The physicals were from Ed's own store and the streams too low to register?
