5th is crazy woooow

Ohonepoint Trix Never finished 20th with what I regard as his signature song when Pagasa entered him. I'd be delighted if I matched that and the only reason why I'm contemplating that as possible is because I've consistently outperformed my expectations this year (and this has already been achieved this month as I expected to DNQ until I got a favourable semi draw). There were only a handful of songs I wasn't into so I'm likely to be pleased with the winner, I just have no idea who it'll be!

Voted! I would say that I have fewer absolute faves this month compared to last month (my 18 probably would have got 10 points had it been in last month) but I am in no way complaining about the quality of the contest overall because there is so much great. My 7 commiseration tracks I feel particularly bad about this time.

Was worried about this one (and mine) so glad they have been announced together! I was sure I'd heard it recently (particularly the chorus's vocals) and had to check it wasn't on the 28 Years Later soundtrack which it reminded me of strangely.

Semi 2 is so stacked, it is almost a relief on the rare occasion that you move onto a less interesting entry because you're just glad it's not pushing out another deserving track from your votes.

Sending my most experimental entry for quite some time and surrendering any contention of top 10 EOY place I think. But very passionate so worth it x

Happy to have a well known artist when the song you sent is incredible! We all know the Eurovision performance, but I didn't love it musically and I probably wouldn't have pointed Ireland 2024 had it been a BJSC entry and wouldn't have gne out of my way to listen to new Bambie Thug music. It's been great to hear a different offering! Commiserations spoiler, sorry pal. Delighted with a Rontvia return to pole position, especially when I gave it 18. Only real miss for me is Planningtorock languishing down at the bottom. Also so pleased that I snook into the top 10 at the end! Thanks to everyone who sent points my way - it's one of the widest appealing entries I've sent recently in terms of where votes came from.

Prim and proper pop songs = appeals to organised type A minds Weird alt music = for messy and late type B ppl I'm just being silly I know this will have lots of contradictions but it's the best I've got.

Looking forward to (the rest of) this. For myself if I am going to finish top 20 as predicted by others then I'm really not sure where the votes will come from as it's not my usual genre! Despite sending something poppier my favs were very much alt-leaning and I'm rooting for 5 tracks in particular, none of which doing amazingly so far.

Voted not so last minute in the end. I could have given 18 to any of my top 5 - very difficult to order! And then lots of contenders for my lower points in a contest where I felt more than half the field deserved something. Basically only the 5ish-10 point zone got just the right number of points from me.

Will be voting last minute - but looking forward to my listenthrough!

On the first scoreboard, I unknowingly posted all the entries left on 0 points (so all but 10/15 tracks depending on voting format) in the order of their final position. I'm not sure if anyone else has done that but I did this TWICE a decade apart, and I believe (hope) only Bré was clever enough to notice each time. If it had been pointed out more widely then it might have made lore for the shortest ever final results threads.

Yeah and the big question is if 'willing to vote for anything to stop Reform' goes as far as voting Labour which is the obvious button to press in large parts of the country with incumbent Labour MPs. With approval numbers where they are, there's a world in which it's simpler if the party is declared dead before 2029.

Very tempted to recycle someone who has been sent twice before over 10 years ago.... and DNQ'd quite spectacularly both times. AND it's R&B which I feel has a reputation for underperforming. But it's a rly good song so let's go for it.

With Caerphilly being in many ways a suburb of Cardiff, I had assumed that it would not be fertile territory for Reform, with them likely to do better further up the valleys. But it actually had the 4th highest Brexit vote in Wales out of the 22 council areas so the Reform result is indeed a bit of an underperformance. There a parts of the UK where there could be majority or near-majority support for Reform, at which point the whole mess of tactical voting wouldn't be relevant. But perhaps that's not as widespread as I thought.
