A list of previous entries is here. Ideally it won't have been sent to a different contest either, but I'm not helpful enough to provide a link to those. You can't confirm an artist who came top 3 in the previous contest - Lucia & The Best Boys, moistbreezy and SVEA. More generally, your entry has to be judged by moderators to be sufficiently inspired, passing the veto framework that you can find here. As the winner of the previous contest, Summericia will automatically qualify for the final. If there is an even number of participants then I will too. I don't think I get any hosting privileges there. The rest of you will be divided into two semi finals and the top 20 from each semi final will qualify for the final. The following nations are banned this month as they failed to vote in last month's final: Ben's Sanctuary and Pagasa. Confirmations will be open until Sunday October 22nd @ 23:59. I get a medal position for the first time in nearly a decade and I don't even see until ridiculously late as I'm on an island in the middle of the Atlantic. I thought that moistbreezy would have wide appeal but still didn't see that coming!

SF1 was fine, enough decent songs to vote for but lacking a massive standout track - hopefully SF2 has some!

It was very much an impulse entry as I sent it after one listen only. I think what swung is is that its intro rly reminds me of Chordashian 'Cold Nights' that was an Aeroche entry a whole a decade ago and one of my favorites from then!

For the commiserations I go through the tracks and go 'I'll consider this for points', and bearing in mind how good SF2 was, I was already being very selective. And then once pointed from my shortlist, anything left gets onto a commiserations list which is never as long! I expected SF1 to be a dud, assuming that all the quality was locked up in SF2, but that wasn't the case at all. I really like how we are using Mod Edit explanatory lines in same the way that Twitter community notes are used to violate ppl x Happy with any of the top 10 winning.

Thanks I really needed this excellent edition!! I only regret that a top BJSC edition has come during a busy time for me so I've not been able to fully digest all these great new tracks - I'll make sure to come back to the tracks and get the ones that stick added to my long-term playlists!

Had my chances at Q'ing at less than 10% what.

I imagine that most of the pop entries in SF2 - apart from that Sara Bareilles one just announced - will qualify as there simply aren't so many of them. I rated Flynndonia 5th bottom and yet I would've given points to that track in some recent editions!

Ok no it's actually really good all the way through?? I have a song that I've rated 7/10 getting 0 when often that is enough for a medal position in the final eeeek. Really was in the mood for the high energy that I got from many of the tracks.

The entries were generally less inspired in the early days and back in like 2009 we had a 'potentials' thread where we reserved 5 artists on a first-come-first-served basis before confirmations actually opened. If I'm remembering that right. Not too sure what the point of that was.

I sent a song that you might hear in a Boiler Room PURELY because the green room thread is titled that. And that it's been a while since I sent a track fitting that description I think. It's Bulgarian techno that will 90% DNQ. There's like 10 seconds of vocals on my entry but they are a very funny 10 seconds x
