A little surprised at Altyr finishing that low. They were just outside my votes and there were certainly far worse pop tracks than that. Quietly confident on not being revealed IMMINENTLY because I somehow made it through a pretty horrendous semi draw - I think scraping through SF1 doesn't mean finishing in the last few spots in the final in this case. Not expecting miracles and await to be revealed in the somewhere in the 20s hopefully.

The realpolitik (obviously) doesn't benefit the US at all but Trump-Putin is a values-based alignment.

Voted! Excellent quality final, mostly propped up by the semi I wasn't in. Unfortunately this has meant some oddities such as my 4th placed track in SF1 being outside my top 15 in the final, thus going from 7 points to 0 in the final...

Didn't realise until I started listening that 'YOU LOVE HER' is the same artist as You Love Her Coz She's Dead who I gave 12 points to when they were entered 16 whole years ago. Very Skins/Alice Glass era.

Changed to a track to an artist whose inspiration sounds halfway between Real Lies and Yves Tumor. A commercial-sounding track whose vocals do not sound very buzzjack friendly tho. Either way I am choosing between two artists who are new which is refreshing after being drawn to recycling artists lately.

Ok I am not normally outraged at my own placements but 12 points for one of the most beautiful songs to have been released in a while is not ok. Should not have trusted the crossover appeal even when the track is hardly out there!!

It's crazy how it's feasible that Labour could lose so many seats but still hold onto some that Tony Blair failed to win in 1997. They could lose all their seats in the East Midlands except for Rushcliffe which was Ken Clarke's seat and famously safe Tory until last year. Similarly, Hexham which has been Tory since 1923 stays Labour (had an SDP rather than a Reform candidate in 2024 though). York Outer, Monmouthshire, Macclesfield, Stroud, Shrewsbury, Welwyn, Truro and Falmouth also should have no place in being part of the rump Labour delegation. Some of these Reform seats are very left wing and if the polling in 2029 looks remotely like today (big if), it all depends on how the narrative of the election plays out. There will be a progressive vote to coalesce in somewhere like Nottingham East, it's just a question of whether it happens around Labour, Greens, another force or indeed not at all.

Ok but that's a member of the Libertarian Party which I think says it all. This is in some way an equivalent of the Rupert Lowe vs Farage drama where someone with a very online following has a fallout with someone much more prominent, far outside of any election season, and it ends up not mattering at all a few months down the line. Granted there weren't world-changing decisions being made in that conflict.
