BJSC 138 - CONFIRMATIONS
I don't particularly enjoy DNQing twice in a row but fuck it I'm sending German lo-fi.

Coronavirus Discussion
Yes, I read that each lateral flow test costs the English government "between £5 and £30", like how does that estimation vary so much and why on earth is even the minimum estimate over five times that of the French pharmacy price. Cowboys.

Big Brother US - Season 25
The double should have been last week or this week I think. These are the weeks where it's blatantly clear that non-CO members are so screwed but CO members are so safe (even if many of the latter dislike each other which is very funny). There was a heartbreaking conversation on the feeds last night...

UP XXX - THE LUCID DREAM EDITION [VOTING ERA]
In that case, I've voted half an hour late which I don't think is taking the piss, and I'm glad to have benefitted from those extra 30 minutes considering my votes more carefully, which might be more in the spirit of the contest! The quality was as good as everybody was saying and there were plenty of interesting tracks that I probably wouldn't come across outside this kind of contest.

UP XXX - THE LUCID DREAM EDITION [VOTING ERA]
I can't explain why I'm suddenly doing last-minute voting again in both BJSC and UP in the same month when I've actually been normally been kinda on time for BJSC in the last couple of years, but if I vote like an hour late in this will I be deducted. If not then I have enough time to give a good assessment but I'll just partially skip the ones where I decide midsong that they're not in contention for my votes, I'd just prefer to listen more thoroughly x

What Youtubers are you currently watching?
I'm subscribed to too many Youtube channels relative to the amount of free time I have for the subscription bar to actually be useful, so I mostly browse stuff from my recs atm and it ends up being very messy, filling up with things that on paper I'm not super into but I keep clicking on and feeding the algorithm anyway. Such as Nigella cooking videos and Harry Potters film clips. When I'm in the habit of watching gaming-related videos, it's very often in French because France seems to be the source of disproportionate quantity of Youtube and especially Twitch content. Like I don't think Britain - or many other countries for that matter - has a culture of gaming houses/streaming collectives??

BJSC 137: CXXXVII ~ GRAND FINAL RESULTS ~
Also what is going on with the semi results -> final results rollercoaster, it's like a completely different set of people voted in them!!!

BJSC 137: CXXXVII ~ GRAND FINAL RESULTS ~
I only voted for four of the top 10 and really thought that Utopia could and should have been up there, but it was looking far worse than that earlier on, plus I'm always glad to see a new country winning!

By-elections 2024
That Labour gain in Kent was the first (off the Tories at least - not sure about other parties) in a by-election since Keir became leader. Given there are dozens of these a month, that's a bit yikes.

UP XXX - THE LUCID DREAM EDITION [CONFIRMATIONS ERA]
No-one's gonna guess that my submission was sent by me I don't think, because without giving the game away completely, it's quite different to most of my BJSC entries (still fitting in this forum tho).

BJSC 137: CXXXVII ~ SEMI-FINAL RESULTS ~
12 27: Tartford Madleen Kane “You Can [Razormaid Remix]” 10 Q 8 Q 7 Q 6 Q 5 Q 4 Q 3 17: D'yermak'er Leith “Love Vibes” 2 Q 1 Q Ok that wasn't SO bad in the end (although dnqs Jupiterdonia, Sovarasma, Hushkanukia and POPhub were the exact four who were just out of reach of my points in a competitive semi, which I feel bad about as I rarely vote for most of them and could have made a difference!) but having my 12 and myself announced as the bottom 2 of the dnqs did not feel great. I'm not surprised that Leon Vynehall failed to grow on many people over the course of a week as it took me like FIVE YEARS for me to properly fall in love with that track. Pls set a reminder on ur phones to listen to it again in August 2026 x

BJSC 137: CXXXVII ~ SEMI 2 ~
I'll be voting a tad late due to emergency cover at work but it won't be too long after midnight!!

Big Brother US - Season 25
1. Xavier (3-5-6-6-5-1) 2. Hannah (15-11-9-4-2-2) 3. Tiffany (1-1-1-1-1-3) 4. Derek X (13-7-5-3-4) 5. Kyland (10-3-2-2-4-5) 6. Azah (5-8-13-13-11-6) 7. Alyssa (9-10-8-8-8-7) 8. Claire (4-2-5-7-6-8) 9. Derek F (8-14-12-11-12-9) 10. Britini (14-12-11-12-7-10) 11. Sarah Beth (11-6-4-9-11) The next few weeks will not be interesting - the main thing will merely be which order Claire/Sarah Beth/Alyssa/DX leave in - and despite the cookout tensions last week, there's a huge absence of individual/selfish gameplay from them.

BJSC 137: CXXXVII ~ SEMI-FINAL REVEAL ~
Thanks for the presentation and all the juicy stats! I listened to all the tracks that had interesting-sounding genres and the standout so far is in the other semi but here's hoping I'll get the chance to vote for it in the final.

Big Brother US - Season 25
The main reason why DX won't win is because he's not in the cookout, but I still think he is the biggest contender of any non-cookout member, which is impressive for a recruit. Tiffany is certainly incredibly messy (see last night's feeds!) but that hasn't stopped her running the house. And on the note of last night's feeds ( ), I have no idea how they fit that in, as well as the veto ceremony, eviction, interview, beginning of HOH comp in one episode, especially when there's been little reference to intra-cookout tensions in recent episodes (the last was Azah getting pissed at Tiffany and DX teaming up during a wildcard comp a couple of weeks ago I think?), and this is the first week where there's any real post-nomination scrambling in the house over who to evict. Timing-wise, probably not the best week to end the Tuesday episode on a cliffhanger!

BJSC 137: CXXXVII ~ CONFIRMATIONS ~
I sent someone who has recently attracted attention in the dance forum BUT it's an old release and this one is more ambient and screams DNQ so don't veto me pls.

Big Brother US - Season 25
I've not had the time to follow much this week, and what I have followed feels increasingly fluid so I'm less and less sure of these rankings but here we go: 1. Tiffany (1-1-1-1-1) 2. Hannah (15-11-9-4-2) 3. Derek X (13-7-5-3) 4. Kyland (10-3-2-2-4) 5. Xavier (3-5-6-6-5) 6. Claire (4-2-5-7-6) 7. Britini (14-12-11-12-7) 8. Alyssa (9-10-8-8-8) 9. Christian (7-4-3-3-9) 10. Sarah Beth (11-6-4-9-10) 11. Azah (5-8-13-13-11) 12. Derek F (8-14-12-11-12) Welp, so it's no surprise that the only way is down for Christian as soon as he's not even been able to play in a comp this week (and because he knows now that he targeted the wrong person when he *was* able to win comps last week). I've put DX third but he's still likely screwed due to not being in the cookout, who will hit the milestone of constituting the majority of the house coming into next week, albeit not dominant at all in comps.

Big Brother US - Season 25
1. Tiffany (1-1-1-1) 2. Kyland (10-3-2-2) 3. Christian (7-4-3-3) 4. Hannah (15-11-9-4) 5. Derek X (13-7-5) 6. Xavier (3-5-6-6) 7. Claire (4-2-5-7) 8. Alyssa (9-10-8-8) 9. Sarah Beth (11-6-4-9) 10. Whitney (6-9-10-10) 11. Derek F (8-14-12-11) 12. Britini (14-12-11-12) 13. Azah (5-8-13-13) I don't know where to put Christian when his main strength is winning comps and yet he will probably be a big target as soon as Tiffany decides it's time for him to go. He's unlikely to be able to talk his way out of it the way Hannah has. Tiffany has played a huge role in dictating who goes every week so far, and if Sarah Beth goes next week then she will be 5/5 so it's unquestionable who #1 is. My joker order is Derek F above Britini because he might have an even smaller chance of winning anything than Britini, he at least has cookout protection and is gonna stay around as a spare part, Victoria-style. On the other hand I'm sorry but Azah has to go last because that feels like the right place for the only houseguest who doesn't seem to actually want to be there or to win. Those three are all above the houseguest almost certain to leave this week, but I think Whitney is the best (= not dogshit) player of the four evicted so far, and I don't think a certain eviction should necessarily mean she goes last in my rankings. ---------------------------------------------------- As much as I want Tiffany to win this, I would quite like an eviction to not go the way the HOH/Tiffany wants but I feel like the most plausible scenario for this is Alyssa leaving instead of Christian, which still isn't particularly interesting.
-
Big Brother US - Season 25
No I think that's about right with those closely following too, although on the show Sarah Beth isn't featuring too much and Alyssa has been reduced to showmance partner when she's actually more than that (she could've easily been evicted this week if Christian hadn't won HOH though). Not only are the cast really intelligent, but the editing hasn't been treating viewers like idiots so much too - I liked how the last episode didn't create needless, artificial speculation about whether Brent really was getting evicted, and instead had the pre-eviction segments focused on next week.
-
Big Brother US - Season 25
1. Tiffany (1-1-1) 2. Kyland (10-3-2) 3. Christian (7-4-3) 4. Sarah Beth (11-6-4) 5. Claire (4-2-5) 6. Xavier (3-5-6) 7. Derek X (13-7) 8. Alyssa (9-10-8) 9. Hannah (15-11-9) 10. Whitney (6-9-10) -- big gap -- 11. Britini (14-12-11) 12. Derek F (8-14-12) 13. Azah (5-8-13) 14. Brent (2-13-14) Amazing cast. Getting rid of the players from the paranoid, isolated team that is the Jokers pre-jury would probably be the best for the power players but a Christian + Alyssa nomination next week (or either of them winning HOH) would blow the game wide open.

BJSC 136 - Final Results
Idk Trifoski sent ONLY the 7th or so best DJ Sabrina song (I was still more than happy to give 18) and yet they're doing just fine. Imagine the records that would be set if it was the 90s R&B-inspired house banger feat. Gwen Stefani K0yz2IqpUVQ
-
BJSC 136 - Final Results
True but if any of them came on in a club I would nonetheless fill the floor x I'm so delighted that DJ Sabrina is doing well, and if she gets dethroned then I'll get over it as the other contenders are great too!! I'm also overjoyed at Burial clinging to top 10 wow I should get away with being cheap more often.
-
BJSC 136 - Final Results
Burial, DJ Sabrina and Kelly Lee Owens were I think in the top 5 when you said that!!! When my votes were revealed I had given decent points to the entire top 5, which would mean my and Buzzjack's taste would be abnormally in sync. So I fully expect all these tracks to sink to varying extents. Surely I gave 2020 fav Elodie as much as that, if not more. </3 If not I apologise to you and also the entire nation of Italy.
