I don't know about the efficacity but we've been wearing masks in all settings in France for ages 7+ for months now. I wear masks in other people's houses when doing private tutoring so for me it's not just public spaces. It feels weird to see videos of news reports in English streets - and also the Houses of Parliament - where people aren't wearing masks. I also heard that in some schools in Britain, masks aren't mandatory for pupils, and if this is widespread then I'm sure that contributed to the need for them to close.
  2. The mods are dogs x Sending my first non-spinoff Japanese entry instead. It's from the 80s and has guitars!
  3. I'm glad you didn't because then I would've had to have made the heartwrenching decision of choosing between you and Utopia for my 18! Plus sending a second masterpiece in a year after Paris Nord-Est would be frankly excessive x
  4. Btw I'm gonna win my best position in months
  5. My entry is under 5 minutes long wtf

What I can't get over is Hancock deciding to close most London primary schools but has mandated Greenwich primaries to stay open, despite it being one of the boroughs with higher case rates, most likely because the government threatened to sue Greenwich council when they tried to anticipate this before Christmas and close a week early. It's the pettiest shit. It stinks of Trump denying millions of people in Michigan federal support because he personally didn't like the state's governor back in spring.
  7. At this point, my only criteria for whether Brexit is a success is me being able to continue living in the country I call home with the same freedom and opportunities as before. Achieving that would not be deemed a real Brexit by others, and so there's no shared objective for us to 'pull together' around here.
  8. Just to be clear the GMT deadline is 23:59 tomorrow right? Now I've written my question I think it's obvious but I'm gonna post it anyway x Normalise 24h time so the absence of PM or AM doesn't create ambiguities pls x
  9. Oops I misread a SF1 DNQ with a similar name to a SF2 qualifier and that somehow prompted me to believe that FARC qualified and put a different entry in my DNQ list. (I don't think the above sentence makes sense but neither did my post late last night)
  10. 12 Q 10 Q 8 Q 7 Q 6 Q 5 10 // Dobago // Mulatto - No Panties 4 Q 3 Q 2 Q 1 Q Pretty good!!!
  11. I am! I'm super surprised that it qualified wtf. I've kinda lost track on what has and hasn't qualified as I scanned the last few pages but I'm delighted that Utopia and Persephonia are through xo

-NwwXCyKGKo I don't know how to really commemorate my 100th entry as I don't wait for anniversary entries to send something special, but here is some quintessential shoegaze. (Bré u have to give me 12 points as they are from Reading)
  13. I'm entering my 100th very last minute!
  14. Idk, I've sent enough hip hop/R&B in addition to the electronic comfort zone such that the former two can't really count as a massive divergence. JXnxWFKnPJY Perhaps this is a bit different to most entries of mine, but that's not because this kind of music doesn't appeal to me - more because you guys are so on top of artists like Rina and I rarely discover pure pop early enough to make inspired, veto-compliant entries! YnZLqtNXbAM pSkrhQiwFcE And these may not be recognised as different because I know my entries are universally unappealing to some - that is to say I'm not sure if people who dislike both alt electronica and alt rock bother distinguishing between the two in the same way that I don't care about the difference between grunge and black metal - but I rarely listen to music with guitars so these were unusual for me.
  15. I won't be able to spend too much time on here tonight due to a lack of WiFi but I hope it goes well! I remember being on here till about 4am for the 2016 disaster
  16. I might have to skip this one again due to my living situation making being able to vote not guaranteed but hopefully I'll be back for my 100th entry next month!
  17. My hot take is that despite very good polls right now, the SNP will get the same number of seats as in 2016 and, once again, the Greens will be needed to obtain the independence parliamentary majority. Do not ask me to show my working here x
  18. Has any début entry won since the first contest? I feel like there's a really obvious début victory that I'm forgetting.

    ok but why tho
  20. I didn't vote for any of the top 5 - Lookylion are my favourite of that bunch - but 6 to 10 are looking great!
  21. After I gave you just the right number of points to put you ahead of me in a tiebreak after your 8th-placed flop last month, it would be par for the course xx
  22. WHAT a top 2 omg
  23. omg me being revealed first is quite a change. Also my votes are predictable this month - if I normally vote for you then I probably have voted for you.
  24. Sorry for being being afk this edition!! I've been moving city and job, as well as living in less than ideal temporary accommodation while searching somewhere permanent so it's all been a bit hectic. My votes are in tho! The final was... samey and a big step down from last month, and consequently my votes are very predictable.
  25. Okay that Persephonia track is to die for
