Votes duly received from just under half of you! Hoping for all of the rest in the next 12 hours 37 minutes please!

I'm loyal to here only. Do let me know where 37 minute minimal techno could live a peaceful, uncontroversial existence though.

No problem - I've linked them on each semi's heading.

Thanks! Probably good to put it in so people are more likely to notice that they are missing an entry.

On that note I can exclusively reveal that Cody is currently sitting on 0 points. Absolute flop, doomed to failure.

Honestly I would LOVE to use something like that to announce a Cor Lupus DNQ.

Most colour ever seen in a Skall-hosted contest forum thread 😭

I'll try that for the final perhaps (if copy pasting doesn't work from this thread) - thanks!

I'm sure the modal Fljotavik entry is random entry chosen on a whim 20 minutes before the deadline into a stonker of a result, and this one sounds promising. You won the last time I hosted so maybe we'll find out if you are blessed in Skall!

Well spotted, thankyou. Hopefully that's the only one!

Yep I essentially did what that site does - I'm not sure what code this forum uses but you can't seem to enter any as text and have it format!

Well formatting something like that on the new site where you have to enter lots of links manually is ASS, when before I could just copy and paste BBCode. I could almost listen to the entire Dobago entry while I did it. Also not a fan of how the centered-alignment text looks, notably that it is not centered, but we're just gonna have to get used to it now.

We are out of the confirmation thread blender. Please see below your allocated semi final. Have a blast listening and then rank your favourite 10, allocating them 12-1 points according to the Eurovision system. Please PM your scores to me and give your country name when doing so as embarrassingly I can forget who is who despite taking part in this thing for well over half my life. The deadline for voting is Thursday 13th August 23:59 BST. When I've received your votes, your country name below will turn a different colour. Results will follow the following evening (Friday), with the top 20 of each semi qualifying for the final. Myself and FARC autoqualify and will be voting in both semis. AutoqualifiersAQ. I have no idea, but leaving the member anonymous of course, I wouldn't generally associate them with sending cheap entries! So no need to even anonymously shame them, just perhaps a bit of care needed looking at the history of their entries/artists on this occasion but I don't think it's a pattern outside of this week.

We have another veto. This isn't something that's been sat on all week - it's been entered by someone who has already been vetoed twice this week - oops! Ravyn Lenae - Saturday Night 10 - artist DNQed in BJSC 80 & came 33rd in BJSC 103 3 - artist had 2 UK chart hits in 2025-2026, 1 of which made the top 40 & top 10 (highest position #2 for 'Love Me Not', peaking in May 2025) - appeared in 9 personal charts, 3 of which are current BJSC participants (DaTilt, jimwatts, RobBot) - is on the Capital Buzz playlist and was a Radio 1 DJ Tune of the Week in early July (but not playlisted); categorising as moderate radio exposure 7 - low to mid level blog coverage Their backup (4th) entry has already been submitted by somebody else so just waiting for a reconfirmation. 5th time lucky hopefully.

I've fully randomised it except deliberately placing the longest song at the end of the semi. And really even if I didn't do that then anybody can listen to them in any order they want, including for the listenthrough. I just allocated semis by randomising the spreadsheet of entries without visibility on the song lengths except the very long one which I recognised by name. As you say, balancing by runtime might create a genre inbalance because it will take 10+ over the shorter songs (which are more likely to be pop) just to compensate for the 37 minute one, leaving the moderately long ones of 5-7 minutes in the other semi together. I think that's a recipe for dissatisfaction.

Not intending to match the thread length that Rich posted from the 00s contests! With that in mind we should be good to go with the semis soon and yous can spam away in that thread.

Mine is cosplaying as French but is actually Latvian so Bré has nothing to worry about.

The PMs have been sent and ideally we would have reconfirmations asap. Tonight is out the window but I hope to be posting the semis as early as is feasible at some point tomorrow!

The last two vetoes: Foxes - Sister Ray 46 - artist came 1st in BJSC 41 and 16th in BJSC 49 3+12 - artist had 6 UK top 40 hits in 2013-2015 (highest position #7 for 'Let Go For Tonight') 12 - appeared in 16 personal charts (as of 2021, probably more since), peaking at #15 in November 2021. 7 - has a thread with 16 replies in the Pop forum and has been nominated for every eligible edition of Record Of The Decade, its highest placing being #50 in its year group, in 2023- substantial internet coverage exposure on this site. 12 - mid level blog coverage - previously vetoed in BJSC 139. Fcukers - I Like It Like That 20 - entered once previously, in CLXV, finishing 26th. 3 - appears in 9 personal charts (bgoood, DaTilt, RobBot, Mango, Chez Wombat, Rogue, HiyaLuv, jcwll, Jade) - spent 3 weeks on the C-List on Radio 1's playlist in January (coinciding with them being Radio 1's Future Artist of the Month). 5 - thread for their album 'O' has 49 replies (3 pages) in the Dance Forum - substantial internet (this website) coverage. 12 - recently supported Harry Styles on tour. I did have my doubts about Foxes as soon as I saw it but didn't want to overstep straight away.

Oops yes we did. I've updated the opening post. We are at 62 pending a reconfirmation and assuming that Jonjo is participating - right now you are @Tafty but without wanting to reopen the debate of several pages ago, please PM me if I am mistaken! This provisionally means that FARC autoqualifies.

Well I'm sure if the framework is being reviewed (which it sounds like it is), then perhaps we could draw from examples of specific entries that 'should' have been vetoed racking up surprisingly few points and rework the framework so that these entries meet the threshold. Not that I'm advocating for a stricter veto as it could of course work the other way (songs that rack up lots of veto points without being deemed veto-worthy), and nor do I have an opinion about the veto-ability of any of those artists/songs. But even if the framework is refined, it will always require discretion. But if you're confused by what does and doesn't get vetoed then I'd probably look at the veto framework as a first port of call, even if it is not perfect, subject to opinion etc.

daine - Love Love (Love Love) 13 - entered once before, in CXLVII, failing to qualify. 3 - song was triple confirmed, artist quadruple confirmed. 10 - featured on Stereogum, among other lesser known blogs. - appears in 2 personal charts (RobBot, DJ Cheeky Magpie). I have contacted the entrant who won the infamous same-second confirmation which it turns out was an all for nothing photofinish anyway.
