I have the exact same opinion. It wasn't as good as the first one, but it was still a very fun watch! I found myself laughing a lot less during this one... But some kids in my screen seemed fine most of it hilarious! If anyone is debating seeing it, I'd still recommend it. It's not terrible by any stretch of the imagination (the first got a 5 from me, I gave this one a 4.5 - it's still packed with nostalgic joy!)

I think this is partly the reason why I left for so long* Back in the day I'd send relatively cheap entries to mixed results (my good results were always on the cheaper side of things - or ones that were recommended by others to enter as I didn't have a clue what to send that month...), and the ones that were less cheap pretty much all DNQ'ed 🤣 I'm playing things differently this time around: since I was late to Valencia, I'm trying to only send artists that haven't been entered before with songs that I like alot, so far it's given me 3 Q's (with 2 low final results, which I'm less bothered about) and at least 25 songs from other posters that I really love! * other reasons being: I kept forgetting to vote so I got slapped with a few deductions and contest bans haha I kinda just forgot to go back to it (yay ADHD 🤣) Work/life got in the way Don't feel bad about not entering if you don't feel up for it, the contest is supposed to be fun afterall!

This is mostly where I'm at with it. It sounds like he was in his twenties, didn't really have any influence, and there was someone who was also young involved (seemingly younger than legal age...) - which is illegal, yes, but the number of under 25s I know that could very well be mistaken for someone underage (I looked young until very recently), and it's very possible that the other guy seemed just as mature as Scott at the time so he'd have no real reason to question it...? It's a tricky one because if you're on a night out for example, you don't generally go around asking how old people are (particularly if someone made it into a bar or whatever, which again, in the 90s they were much less strict with ID and things). And then if there wasn't a potential cash payout to compensate, would there really be any issue with it? I don't know the severity of course, I just know that lots of people when I was in my mid teens would happily sleep with someone in their early twenties (particularly in gay culture where young people seem to try to stay as "twinky" as possible for as long as they can). Until more info comes out, it's easy to jump to conclusions, but the BBC have reason to be cautious with these things, so I do think this is probably the reason for the sacking. It's just a shame that a mistake you made nearly 30 years ago, can bite you in the future - obviously there could be FAR more to this than we know! EDIT: I'm not invalidating the potential victim here btw, I'm just talking about my observation of culture when I was younger! He may very well be traumatised by what happened (and I'm sorry to hear it, if so, and Scott definitely could well not be the 'nice guy' he's portrayed as), but we don't have enough detail to know that!

I really like this idea actually. I don't know if the country/poster sending the artist really makes any impact, but the thing with unconscious bias is that it's exactly that - unconscious! On the other hand, I like that (unlike anonymous contests like Bop Idol) you have someone/a country to associate the entry to, which probably helps to drive engagement up! (Discussion along the lines of "I really hope [insert country] doesn't DNQ again, this song is really great!" Etc)
