Which is always interesting to see as things doesn’t balance out before after a few months that shows who the current elite players really are. But with NINE new countries qualifying for the final this contest and a whole bunch of new participants see the BJSC arise and arouse to new and unexplored fields of fun. Let’s take a look at the various important happenings as of now! Significant changes to the scoreboard worth a comment: Happenings in the TOP FIVE: - To get to the higher grounds of results making, Fljótavík knew that taking a slight overdose of pure quality music would take him 5 more places up to inside the top five! - Skall knows how good it feels to be around the best players as well and climbs 4 places to get here! - Oh and Isconia lets it rest for a bit and goes out of the top five by falling 5 places. Countries with a big improvement since the last contest: - As heartbreaking as it is, the global concept of some countries doing better than most other countries in a certain way is not new, but three countries did actually improve more than most of us (thank you!) with 7 places higher than last contest. Bignia-Zaragovina, Juranabaijan and Trifoski ^_^ - FSR Rontvia still manages to qualify without fail (which is a quality worth falling in love with, I guess) made them climb 8 places this contest! - Another country who’s done quite well lately (although a bit insanely unpredictable) is Danaelanda who climbs a good 12 places up the scoreboard! - Although impressively enough a whole climb of 19 places is done by this nation: *uncovering* BATIDAS! Congratulations! :D Countries with a big regression since last contest: - Oh gurrrl.. *flips hair*.. Ya’ll know Daehun and Greenfroze both agree that this minus 13 fall down the scoreboard is just a one shot miss and nothing else *snaps fingers*.. you know like.. If being pretty was everything and stuff.. we’d obviously WIN this thing! -_- - Numayania failed hard for the first time in a long time, but like every other love song, they’ll be back again soon to ravish all of us, but this time there is just that (February) 14 (th) places down the scoreboard! - But just like a farfetched dream of Bombay Altyr Muunilinst experience the phenomenon of not actually being fully achievable and falls as much as 16 places down dat scoreboard! Ouch! Other significant stuff: - We wholeheartedly welcome all of the new countries on this side, this time around. Welcome Ashton, Ojnoj, Tinnmark, B.a.N.G , Utopia and D’yermak’er! :cheer: (*Usually I'd rank the nation who did better than the other one this contest on the higher placing, but I'll put them both on this side because I'm nice and for the sake of tidiness.)

  4. WOW! I genuinely didn't see that one coming! 'Cameron' winning a 5th place is perfect! I've never been 5th before and in such a powerful contest such as this one I'm absolutely thrilled and relieved  Thank you to everyone who voted for Greenfroze and Jillette and I'm glad many of you made a discovery out of her song! Most of my entries are quite unknown and that may not have worked as good most of the times, but it was oh so worth it right now. I'll keep on as ever, then! And despite me LOVING the quality of this contest, I'm not that fond of the overall results; most of my favorites are in the bottom half of the scoreboard *sigh* But at least they made the final and most people enjoyed the contest a lot! :D One more thing! I've noticed all of your comments regarding how you feel about 'Cameron'. I appreciate and I'm glad that you've taken to it as much as you have! This is one of the main reasons to why I'm participating in BJSC. Cheers!
  5. I've got a feeling this edition is going to be good!
  6. Oooh, is it normal for an MGP entry to appear on the Swedish itunes before (or after?) the show even airs?
  7. I'm not sure if I understand everything you say, but I think this is my point. If it's about complete fairness, then a nation ban is appropriate including the penalty ban just like in a regaular contest. But this is sort of much bigger than that overall. If we don't like/allow the banning of a nation from TBO for not voting, but sort of making them able to qualify regardless (henceforth probably not giving another worthy song the actual chance) because we really want to find as close a TBO worthy winner as possible, then that supports my argument slightly more than not.
  8. Oh and thank you to the nations who voted for Greenfroze and our Orange Caramel  9th is quite great! :D Although I would've LOVED a top 5 for The LIPS, The Very Best and Elisabeth Carew! All 9/10 moments! 'İşporta' is quite the fancy song as well, though, so that must be the song I'm most happy about to see end up in top 5! Oh alright, 'Don't fail me now' as well. Good pop song, that one!
  9. Wait. Have I really developed something like that? I only failed to vote that ONE TIME :( I can't remember not voting in any other contest in here. I love BJSC! ^_^ Oh and I'm just going to throw something out there (not so much influenced by personal opinion as I like New York), but I think Dalisska should've won and that possibly non-voters don’t get a penalty for not voting in TBO. I realize the rule is there to give people an incentive to vote and such and that should still definitely apply for the monthly contests because it’s so often and not voting there ruins the ‘flow’ and spirit of the contest in general, but in TBO it’s much more important that the right song actually wins regardless. TBO is only once a year and is there to find out which song is the best one of the entire year (or best entry to DNQ) and should be exempt of that penalty. I know Dalisska could’ve voted for New York as well, but if the penalty is there in the first place, why not make Dalisska unable to get to the semi finals of the next TBO? Like in the usual contests where participants can’t participate in the next contest. Why not just threaten – if they don’t vote - to remove them from the list of entries that we can vote for if they get in a final next year? Even if it’s second? Or even just remove them completely if actually winning? It’s a BIT difficult to explain what I mean, but I hope you understand
  10. It was a great deal harder for me to vote in this one than in the other two finals, which is both a bad thing and a good thing. I hope that at least one of my top favourites can win! And I hope Orange Caramel finishes high
  11. There's a lot of things to think about when it comes to all of the entries participating in these three contests right now, but what I'm most sure about is that Kingdom of shadow's Margaret Berger can win this one! It's like transcending!
  12. This fact caught me such by surprise that I had to go back and check. I found out (the file excel spreadsheet was still available to download :D ) that you gave me 10 points in our semi final. How great! Thanks! ^_^ To make clear why I'm surprised and to reminisce a bit.. this is what I made my enthusiastic debut with: D2m8tYFB_3c A bit of a risk at the time, I admit (:kink:) But it's still a very, very lovely entry!
  13. Freeze posted a post in a topic in Eurovision Song Contest
I'm not sure. The sex part is clear to me, but does choosing sex mean that we can't watch Eurovision on Live television/Web stream/rerun/DVD, but we can still download songs individually? Are we allowed to hear a Eurovision song on Radio, for instance? Or do we have to turn off when Loreen comes on (but if we didn't watch the show, how would we know what not to listen to). Can friends still tell me about the show? Like.. tell me about political difficulties, describe the presentations, artists, songs etc.? :drama: I guess you can still have that without sex. You don't need it. All you need is a wet dream and a night doctor! Or just the doctor, but you know.
  14. 'Smash' is smashing! So good! This is actually currently one of her best songs for me! I'm intrigued to hear she's going to participate at MF, but I'm not holding too much hope in for her as I remember how Maria Haukaas did there :(
  15. I agree with this. All of my biggest favourites from both semi finals failied to qualify and I'm not feeling the TBO final at all this year. Even though there are some great songs here and there, obviously, voting should most likely be a breeze :nocheer:
  16. Oh, this was a disappointing set of qualifiers :nocheer: Only ONE entry of the TEN I voted for got through! Terrible! Gutted on behalf of those nine, wonderful entries that didn't qualify :(
  17. YAY! I was VERY surprised to see Xelle through! Didn't think they would, so that was great! And you almost gave me a heart attack there, Tom, by putting Orange Caramel at the bottom of the list of qualifiers. Lipstick is one of my favourite entries this year and I'm thrilled they're through! :w00t: I'm a bit gutted about Manicanparty, but that was one of the biggest contests, so it had a lot of competition. Mutine is also a shame to see DNQ yet again :( But I have two entries in this years Rejects and I'm quite happy with that. I don't think I got any last year! Although there were some unjust and sad DNQ'ers, like Casa Murilo/Wrecking ball, Asaf Avidan/Different pulses, Blitzkids mvt./Blinded and Escort/Makeover :( ... most of my nominations did qualify too, I think. So I'm VERY pleased with that as well. Should be challenging to vote in the semi finals!
  18. Wow, you really think so? :o I'm glad you feel that way! Thanks, I'm honored! As I came in here checking the results expecting to DNQ with Rachel, but to my suprise she actually qualified! I'm very happy with that! But I'm very gutted about these entries DNQ'ing, though! :( Inescapable and Let it go are two FANTASTIC pop songs and should've been in the final above at least most of the winnters, but seeing the final list I do feel that most of the most important entries came through overall.
  19. I am hoping for all of my DNQ's this year to qualify (well, I do love them all!) but I'm unsure about the chances of Xelle and Mutine. Xelle attracted minimum attention and interest, and even if there are some who seems to love Mutine, I think the competition is too hard in BJSC L for that one to get anywhere. BUT I am a bit more positive when it comes to Manicanparty; as it had some fans in the other semi final as well. Although it may seem that my biggest chances of qualifying is through Orange Caramel especially! I should really have voted that time, but still it's one of my favourite entries this year!
  20. I have nominated as well! :D Gave each contest a listen through the recaps, looked at my votes and made the necessary swaps and switches, which I seemed to have done in practically every contest! TBO gives me perspective on the year and there has been some very good contests throughout with my biggest favourites being primarily XLI and XLV + XLVI being joint second somehow! I thought maybe the reason why I loved XLI so much was because I actually hosted it, but some of the comments in here seems to express otherwise. I enjoyed hosting that one  The contest I liked the least was XLIX.. but other than that I liked most of the contests this year. For a very long time now BJSC is where I discover the best music
  21. *WARNING! INCOMING TREATS!* Some special statistics for 2012: - Lowest ranked nation to have scored a first place: Botanikka, placed 19th - Lowest ranked nation to have scored a second place: Skall, placed 36st (Three nations with a 2nd place this year ended up below the top 30!) - Lowest ranked nation to have scored a third place: Tinnmark, placed 22nd - Contest with the most points given/received: XLVI with 3074 points - Contest with the least points given/received: XLI with 2481 points Average 1st place score: 173, 8 points Average 2nd place score: 161, 3 points Average 3rd place score: 147,6 points Two fun facts! The year with the highest participation level was 2012 with 68 nations! The year with the lowest participation level was 2010 with 59 nations! Oh and I almost forgot! 24. Oh. It seems my recent few entries all have garnered some heated attention one way or the other. Yes, I was very unsure on what to send after my first choice of artist got taken, and I honestly didn't think 'Living it up' would be such a terribly misplaced entry in this. I hope it didn't create too much spirit of fluster and dissapoint as that was never my intention. I just hoped someone really liked my entry, and realistically speaking (13 votes is more than most entries got and just as much as the winner!) someone did and I did ended up at 17th place! So I'm happy for that at least, but I've done quite well in this competition overall so I am going to try harder next time, promise!
