Some normally successful countries didn't live up to their expectations and some DNQ regulars definitely stepped up to the plate and brought about surprises and aided in a development of some sort of overall balance. On the other hand, most of the new challengers in the Buzzjack world didn't even flinch our fears one bit as yet again, lack of competition experience proved quite influential on their results. Only ONE managed to qualify for the final! Next month we see a couple more countries engaging in BJSC XLIV, and what happens then? :o Either way; here are some significant changes to the scoreboard worth a comment: - Well, this isn’t THAT significant, I guess. But the top five of this year has almost been the same since January (bar one country!), but has switched around several times during these months. Ashton’s mellowness in the contest has finally come to PROPER fruition this year and manages to barely hold on to first place by a single point! You aren’t going to let it go are you, Numayania?! Countries with an improvement since the last contest: - Bignia-Zaragovina is touching the top 30 just about by climbing 4 places. - Hendinia finally sends a big hit again and is taking off 8 places upwards in their pursuit of.. what? Top FIVE just like in 2009, 2010 AND 2011? :D - By channeling their inner white fox, Caerfyrddia finds the strength needed to sneak forward by 11 places! - These three improvements are good, indeed, but the record holders this month are Elëdan and Kylienips. Yes, Kylienips did qualify again, but this is their best result in a long time and all that bodywork has finally paid off. Elëdan on the other hand stopped playing around with monotone obscurities before February and that has also paid off. 17 PLACES is what they have improved upon themselves this time. Congratulations! :D Countries with a regression since the last contest: - Due to a DNQ this time (DNQ = People doesn't like your song :kink:) - Budtar and Unovia both fall 8 places down the scoreboard. Perhaps people doesn't always feel the need for something to dance for? GLNTXOXO anyway :P - 1: Oh and yes.. about Kopečka. They DNQ'ed this time, did you know? 2: Yeah I know, it's unreal! 3: Wait, what?! How?! 1: I don't know, but apparently the BJSC world isn't theirs anymore. 3: Awww, I hope they do better next time, then! 2: I agree. But what were the consequences of this failure, then? 1: They fell 9 places down to 20th. I wonder if they've ever been there before. I don't think so! - The biggest.. err.. regressors.. since last contest (all because of a DNQ) are Sangria, FYR Vojvodina-On-The-Wold and Land of Jack. Sangria has DNQ'ed so much it's probably a part of their fingerprints by now. Vojvodina failed to qualify for the first time, though, so this event is certain to leave a shameful void in their participation record. Land of Jack tried to twink things up a bit with their style, but apparently people weren't that flattered by Ollie's frontside. - NEW to the table are Zechonia, Yuxhaaq and Utopia. Impressive start for them! :cheer:

I'm a bit late with my reply to this, but that's probably fine! :D As a Norwegian who lives here in Norway I can say just a bit more on how she's generally perceived and I wouldn't go as far as to say that people consider her now as just a pretty face. Not largely, even. Of course, there are strong opinions being voiced of her as such, and various television figures make jokes about it, but that's superficial media's expressions mostly. Things are so much better for her at the moment, I would say. Because at the beginning of her career, that's when she was largely considered as just a pretty face. But there are legitimate reasons behind why she's one of few Norwegian pop artists who has managed to survive here as just that; a pop music artist. Many of these has come and gone over the years, mainly because it's proven quite challenging to achieve here in Norway. Every time she's actively been in the media; in the form of written, radio and live TV interviews, part of a program, show etc. she's come across as positive, realistic, hard working, kind and mature - which has been an influential part in developing people's opinion of her from being that 'just a pretty face'-figure to an engaging, decent pop artist. Generally, people doesn't always give her music the attention that it truly deserves, and there are people who dislikes her for being that confident and showing it (bad cultural habit), but from what I see - generally - people seem to like her and her music. So mostly; she definitely has proven herself in a positive fashion and her ongoing career is proof of that.

You're not dumb, it's easy to overlook at least one PM when you've recieved so many lately. I'm glad you found it anyway :D I've sent something completely different from what I've sent previously this time. It's described as R&B/Soul music, so it's definitely something new from me. I just LOVE her voice. I also love her presence, the music video and the overall strength and feel of the mood and movements of the song! I found it yesterday almost by accident, it's only been out for 14 days now and it has about 8000 views, so the song and the artist is proven unknown. I just hope some of you DISCOVER it too! :wub:

I'm pretty sure there were. I just checked the folder it's in and it's definitely there. But when I tried to play it an error message popped up :drama: I didn't try to play every single song, but that was what I downloaded from the link I got and uploaded to the album.

Everything else seems fine, right? I did check a couple songs if they were in the release schedule/top 40 and such, and nothing else seems to be unelegible. Oh and what do you think of the layout? Because I did fiddle around with it a lot and I'm still unsure if left/center is the best way to present this given the pictures, but I think it looks different and interesting. Soundcloud is down, and there are some entries submitted with such a link. Should I ask those affected to find another link or upload their song to a different site, or should I just continue with things as they are and expect the site to be fixed sometime soon? If it's not up and running by the end of the day even, regardless of that I will be PM'ing the UP IX album to everyone, so there shouldn't be any trouble getting to hear those songs. Waiting is another possible method, I presume. Either way I'm almost ready to get the contest started. I have briefly skimmed through most of the entries (for structural purposes), and there seems to be a lot of good music present! :D
