When does people want the next UP to start? As.. I'm still contemplating whether I am well suited enough to host this contest. Well naturally I know how to host, but I'm not familiar with this part of the forum at all and I'm not that 'indie music competent' to know what would be eligible/accepted as entries. I also don't know of/know that many members in here to write interesting comments and sorts. So my way of hosting this could well get pretty boring, ignorant and/or uninteresting :drama: :unsure:

I have often noticed your passion for any song capable of depicting/expressing/being "hot mess" in some way. Recent example coming from Svetlana Loboda. May I ask you; because I'm not a native english speaker and to me, the word 'mess' seems like a bad thing. Like something out of order, cluttery, poorly made etc. Yet you seem to love it so greatly. I THINK I understand what you mean in that it's supposed to be/play out that way and achieves it so well, but sometimes I wonder if you mean it in a good way or a bad way. Like now. Not sure what my question is, though, but would you mind elaborate your definition of 'mess'? This is a PERFECT way of describing what kind of effect 'Euphoria' has. There is something purely euphoric about every second of that chorus, and I'm just honestly waiting for it to appear when I'm listening to the verses, although lately I've realised how important it is to have everything else so low key, as that does hugely empower the glorious transcending of the chorus! :wub:

Oh no! :( I am incredibly gutted about this DNQ as I really love 'Invincible' :cry: I thought more people would like it too, as for me it's one of the best and biggest pop songs I've ever sent to this contest! Ooh :( I think I'm keeping that icelandic track for a bit longer as it's a bit too close to the sound of 'Invincible'. It's not similar, but it's too close to be classified as something different. If I find anything, I am going to try to send something a bit more indie again to the next contest! I wanted to have one more qualifier through from each semi because so many countries took part.

Greenfroze has voted! :cheer: I didn't dislike any song in my semi final (well, maybe ONE!), and there are a couple of standouts for me as well! Although I don't just evaluate from how much I personally like the song; I try to find out how strong/good each song is in it's respective genre/style etc, as well as giving a bonus/take into account how inspired/unknown it is as an entry.

That is true. In that case one could ask said person to locate one. I asked several people to find an MP3 of their song when they confirmed without, and most of them did that later on :D

I don't agree in that it's too far a step to go by buying a couple of songs. I usually and generally buy music I like either way, and it's not like it costs me THAT much. In my contest I bought six songs (which is like 48 norwegian kroners - or a little over 5 pounds), mainly for the purpose of the competition. This is the first and only time I've done that as well since I've never won before, and how often does that happen? Like I mentioned, I found it to be fair that everyone was represented in HQ - but I also bought them so that everyone else who downloads the MP3 packs should get the chance to listen to everything, and hopefully keep it if they actually enjoyed the song. It's a win-win situation! ... and it took me about five minutes! If the song isn't available anywhere than that's a whole different story (although it is required to provide a youtube/soundcloud link and there is a way of downloading off those), so there should be no real hassle to obtain just a handful of missing MP3's. It's rare when EVERYONE fails to provide download links if the host asks for it, though. But I agree it should be a requirement; or at least made an etiquette of!

I think I will make a page for Greenfroze as well, it should be interesting! And you could do bits and pieces from time to time, though. You don't have to do it all at once; a couple of minutes a day - or something - makes it a whole lot easier!

I think it's only fair everyone is represented in HQ, but I did like everything I bought! Couldn't find something in better quality otherwise, actually! Farahtyns' entry for instance.

Maybe they were having trouble finding an MP3, because most people sent me one last month! There were only a couple I had to buy on iTunes..

I tend to watch the music videos were available as a preliminary measurement, and then I usually exclusively listen to the MP3's until I'm completely satisfied with my top ten! :D I never delete anything either, as I'm a collector of music! And like Jerick, I have a Buzzjack file containing every song entered since I joined (or most them, at least. There should be something I haven't found or in some of the earlier contests there are a few songs I never got, since I didn't knew how to get them at the time) and I also have a file with EVERYTHING else related to Buzzjack! ^_^

I can't tell if you like it or not, but given the lyrics I don't think they needed to make it any different than it is. Judging by the related videos it seems they've asked people to record their own contribution to the song and upload it. It's simple, but effective, and I find the message of the song to be both important and empowering!
