  1. That Cher Lloyd song is godawful. However, she did not deserve the hatred she got back in the day.
  2. I never rated 'Party Rock Anthem' highly because it was played so much in 2011. However, it's fun and doesn't take itself seriously. We're missing that in pop music now.
  3. I completely forgot about 'Loca People'. I quite liked it at the time but not so much now. It was part of this explosion of quirky European dance music from the early 2010's from artists like INNA, Alexandra Stan and Edward Maya etc.

  5. I never rated Jason Derulo very highly myself but I think this song has to be his worst. And that track he sampled has been used so many times.
  6. How dare The X Factor destroy the masterpiece that was Damien Rice's 'Cannonball'. That should have been a crime against music.
  7. I was never a fan of JLS and after hearing 'She Makes Me Wanna', it just reinforces my belief. The song has aged badly and you can tell it's from 2011. I can barely make out their vocals from the synths. A 6 year old could have written better lyrics. I didn't appreciate that Wretch 32 song at the time but I've grown to like it more now. British rap is an acquired taste I feel but this holds up well amongst most of it.
  8. This Scouting for Girls song must be the very last of the 2000s landfill indie era. I wouldn't really class it as indie myself, it's more pop compared to their previous singles. It's pleasant enough. Nothing special.
  9. I remember nearly everyone at school had these wristbands in the 00s.
  10. I quite liked that Diana Vickers song. A forgotten gem. She had quite a distinctive voice. However, I can't remember anything else she did.
  11. Reminds me of those karaoke versions of pop songs you hear in shops. It grates when you are so used to the original version.
  12. 'Forget You' is so cheesy but it's such a feel good song. It never fails to put a smile on my face. I would have put this in my top 5 of 2010.
  13. Pretty poor playlist I must say, compared to Capital or BBC Radio 1. And the presenters on KISS have very little personality. Whose bright idea was it to give someone from Love Island and TOWIE their own show?

  15. Now that's what I call a radio playlist.
  16. "I throw my sandwich in the air sometimes, saying ayo I ordered mayo".
  17. Iyaz is one of those artists who seemed exciting at the beginning and then the novelty wears off.
  18. I have looked at the UK charts for the first time in years and shocked to see at least half consists of old songs (e.g. Michael Jackson, Chemical Brothers, Katy Perry). I like nostalgia as much as the next guy but this is ridiculous. It feels like artists are running out of fresh material. Even radio stations are mostly playing old songs now. It seems that BBC Radio 1 is the only one breaking new talent.
  19. I'm shocked that B.o.B and Bruno Mars are only at Number 19 on this countdown. Each to their own, I suppose. Personally, I would have put it in the top 3. I like that it's smooth, soulful and different to a lot of the music released in 2010.
  20. I didn't know Roll Deep had 2 number 1 singles. I completely forgot about this one until I clicked on the link above.
  21. This Olly Murs song is pleasant enough. Nothing special. I wouldn't switch it off if it played on the radio. I was never a X Factor fan but Olly has to be one of the best singers to appear on it. He certainly had a lot of hits and stuck around for years.

  23. I personally never rated Jason Derulo that highly myself. When he hits those high notes, he sounds like a cat being castrated.
  24. I remember liking Beautiful Monster at the time and thought it was an interesting change in direction for Ne-Yo. Someone was clearly influenced by the European dance music festivals and nightclubs. 😆 Listening to the song with 2026 ears, I think it sounds dated now and I prefer Ne-Yo's R'n'B offerings. However, you can't blame an artist for trying something different. Same with Usher.
  25. I think the better songs always stall at number 2 unfortunately.
