I like Timbaland's music so was looking forward to hearing this. However, it's underwhelming and doesn't have a memorable hook or chorus to draw me in. It's not easy for artists to recreate the magic after 15 years.

Oh no! Not another cover of a dance anthem. 😒

Heard this playing on Kiss FM yesterday. I thought it was PinkPantheress at first. Sounds very similar. It's a great song.

I found the whole tropical house trend from the mid 2010s got boring quickly. The same drum beat, chopped vocals, marimbas and pan flutes. It also didn't help that a lot of pop songs were influenced by that sound.

Who remembers this one hit wonder?

Here's a couple of one hit wonders I have found.

I didn't realise they referred to 2000's indie music as landfill indie. I don't think it's a fair description. There was some good stuff and a lot of it still holds up well today. This song was one of my favourites.

The mid to late 2000's was the last era that indie was the dominant sound before EDM and rap took over in the 2010's. However, in the last year or so, I have noticed that indie/alternative music is starting to make a comeback with artists like Sam Fender, The Anxiety and Steve Lacy. I think the music industry is so safe and bland these days that indie will never reach the same level of success it did in the 90's and 2000's again. I feel so old saying all this. 😆

I'm guessing because it doesn't sound very mainstream, they decided to wait and see how well it did commercially before playing it.
