Well, it's all over in Lotunia for the 145th BuzzJack Song Contest, and the results are in and it turns out we have achieved our best result ever in the contest! 7th place is where we ended up after switching positions several times at the top of the leaderboard. It is two places higher than the last record achieved in BJSC 133 with Mint Royale. Mayra Verónica has served our nation well with a song that is almost a decade old, but perhaps it was a familiar sample from Paul Johnson that struck a chord with many listeners.
Thank you to the 27 participants who gave us points in the final (5 short of the national record), especially to Tartford & New Lexico for the 18's and Eastovka, Greenfroze, Jupiterdonia and Yobnedorica for a silver medal position! From my highest ever final result in BJSC 145 to my lowest ever final result in BJSC 146!
 Zanmatony have no regrets over their choice to send Samuel Jack to the most recent contest, and are grateful to the 12 participating nations who decided to award us some points, especially East Rukahavian for the silver medal position. So here we are, following the late results last night, and we have only gone and smashed our record that was achieved just two contests ago! The final result was 4th place, just one away from a medallist position, but nonetheless, our first ever Top 5 final position, and it's all thanks to the girls of VENUS who sang their hearts out on the pop banger Amplifier.
 Thanks to the volume of voters and the high points awarded, we were also able to break the record achieved in BJSC 98, for most final points received, finishing with a respectable total of 252! So, after leading much of the way through the first half of the results yesterday, it was clear that there would be a big shortage of points in the second half, and that proved to be the case as Dance Machine 96 fell from a first place position to a 21st place final position. It is still a unique final position for Zanmatony, but it feels a little deflating being in the lead for a long period to fall so far from grace.
 All that said, thank you to the 20 people who voted for DJ Reiz in the final of BJSC 148, especially those who awarded medal positions; Bøtanikkä, Danæviia and Dobago for the gold medals, and Jadakissnia & Thelonia for the bronze medals! Artist: Coldcut Song: Autumn Leaves Coldcut are British production duo Matt Black & Jonathan More. During their long career, which began in 1986, they have encompassed a wide range of styles from hip hop and rap to electronica and jazz-inflected sounds. Coldcut are also considered the first stars of UK electronic dance music due to their innovative style, which featured cut-up samples of hip-hop, soul, funk, spoken word and various other types of music, as well as video and multimedia. Autumn Leaves was originally composed by Joseph Kosma in 1945 with original lyrics by Jacques Prévert in French (original French title: "Les Feuilles mortes"), and later by Johnny Mercer in English. So the dream ended here. The longest streak that this nation has managed to date ends at a record of 8 contests. The culprit was the marvellously overlooked Autumn Leaves by Coldcut, an all time favourite chillout song and one that many slept on (in some cases quite literally). However, it is not the end of Zanmatony, and we will continue to be represented in the future. Thanks for all the love and support during much of 2022 that gave us both our best finishing position to date, as well as our longest qualification streak to date too.

BJSC 150 Entry (November 2022)
Artist: Fourward feat. Dakota Sixx Song: How Austrian electronic outfit Fourward started out producing music in early 2007. All members have different musical backgrounds which fit together perfectly and provide a great studio vibe. After spending over a decade as a quartet, Fourward now consists of members Ludwig and Lukas, both of whom have ensured that the outstanding levels of quality and dynamism that the project has become synonymous with have stayed true to the Fourward sound. Songwriter and vocalist, Dakota Sixx, has received support from some of the biggest platforms and names in pop culture: Complex, BBC 1, 1Xtra, Mixmag, UKF and many more. Dakota’s ability to offer versatility has meant that her vocals can be found across all genres, yet never straying too far away from her own unique style of clever wordplay and catchy hooks. According to Fourward, How went through many different versions before the final version was chosen. Of the song, the duo describe it as “a nice and crunchy chord progression/riff, which is the basis of the track. Zanmatony were once again unable to qualify for the final BJSC of 2022, but we bowed out from a strong semi-final and Fourward were denied a second qualification after representing the nation of Thelonia in BJSC 107.
