"Did all the girls used to have to get drunk to hang out with you?" Gaga asked. "You're such a dreamboat!" The unlikely duo will reprise their chemistry on an entire new album, Bennett tells Rolling Stone. "Of all things, she called me from New Zealand and said, 'I want to do a jazz album with you,'" Bennett, 86, said in an interview where he also discussed his upcoming Viva Duets album, out on October 23rd. "And I said, 'You got it!' So that's one of the things we're gonna do." "We're gonna do a jazz album with Marion Evans, a big swing band, and I'm looking forward to it because a lot of people don't know it, but she's a phenomenal jazz singer," Bennett says, adding the record will consist entirely of songs from the catalog of a mystery songwriter. "I can't mention the composer because I don't want anybody to do it before we do it, but there's a great composer that's very underrated, very famous, but not as famous as Gershwin or Porter. But he did as many hit songs as anybody, and so we're gonna do a big swinging album." When will sessions happen? "As soon as I can," says Bennett. Asked if he sees himself performing with Gaga soon, Bennett says, "Let's see what happens. She's a good friend and I respect that she's so creative, that every day she changes, she has so many ideas and carries them out. She just never stops with it. I call her the musical Picasso. September 29, 201212 yr Omg yes yes yes! So basically two albums to look forward to, the amazing pop masterpiece and the jazz one to show off her voice, I loved her Lady & The Tramp with Tony and she had a perfect voice for jazz so I'm excited!

Going to be a busy year if she's planning two volumes of ARTPOP and this, but i'm not complaining! ^_^

January 26, 201312 yr I don't think we'll get this for a while because of the two volumes of ARTPOP. Vol 1 will probably by April/May with Vol 2 in December and then joint album with Tony in 2014 (around June?) Either way, good to be a Gaga fan over the next year or so with all this new music!

September 28, 201311 yr Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett's joint jazz album will be released in January 2014. The pair - who started work on the LP together in June - have made a "sensational jazz album", according to Bennett. He told Propaganda (via Capital FM): "In January of next year we will release the album. It is a very sensational jazz album, with great jazz artists on it, it came out wonderful." Bennett, 87, described his relationship with Lady Gaga as like that of a "brother and sister" earlier this month. "She's the Picasso of the entertainment world. She's a very talented person. We're just like brother and sister together," he explained. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga will release her new album ARTPOP on November 11. Lead single 'Applause' charted at number four in the US and at number five in the UK last month. She debuted material from the record during her headline set at the iTunes Festival in London on September 1. :wub: Can't wait, her voice is as perfect for jazz as it for pop.

March 8, 201411 yr This is exactly what she needs to get her credibility back, back-to-basics, stripped back songs. Think she could make a moder, relevant jazz album a bit like Amy Winehouse? @Cos that'd be exactly what she needs to have people listen again.
