The debut single from Leona, it went on to become the fastest selling single by a female artist at the time and gained the coveted Christmas #1 slot.

I remember being amazed when she performed this on the X-Factor final, especially the falsetto part. :wub: I rarely listen to it now though, as I find that she's done much better since and while the song is nice/nostalgic, it doesn't do much for me anymore. ^_^

I didn't realise how short it's chart run was actually.

 

I think 'AMLT' has actually aged massively. It feels like it was released when it was, whereas Leona's got other songs that would still sound current today. It's a good enough song as winner's single, though there have been better on XF - 'Hallelujah' and 'Impossible' are better imo.

 

I'm not surprised it's sold over 900k. Leona was the first massive superstar created by the show, and she was the clear front-runner throughout her series of XF. It's not really one of the songs I revisit, however, it was nice enough at the time.

After That's My Goal and all the other reality winners singles, I think this was the point where the winners single became a real cliche so it's funny that Simon's still using the same method several years later :lol:.

 

I remember when they announced that the song would be the winner's single though and some of the contestants complained that it was biased towards Leona but tbh, she was the only real star of that series.

What a tune. Even as a total Kelly Clarkson song, this is better than the original :wub: It just suits her voice so much more, it's one of my fave Leona songs still.

Incredible song, my favourite X Factor winners single with 'Hallelujah' just behind. I remember going to Woolworths on the day the CD single was released and seeing so so many copies of the single, I'd never seen so many copies of the same CD in one place before! :P Kelly's version is great too but Leona's is just amazing! :wub:

This song is amazing. It may be a cover but it's so much better than Kelly's.

Ooh I very much remember the first time she sang this, my second year of following X Factor!

Admittedly I wasn't (and am still not really) the biggest fan of the song itself, but her voice sounded so brilliant! :wub:

I prefer Kelly Clarkson's version, it doesn't sound quite as rush recorded.

I do prefer this version to Kelly's, maybe because I knew it first, but this is my third favourite winner's single from X Factor, after Hallelujah and That's My Goal. Remember absolutely LOVING it back when it was out, still one of her best I think.
