TIME TO CONFIRM

 

I know it's only been a couple of days since the climax of LXVII but we're running on a tight schedule here so we're kicking off confirmations right now. (I was going to open them tomorrow but I may not be around much tomorrow as I am attending a super exciting open day).

 

As long as you've been a poster on this site for at least three months and are not named Brett-Butler, Mariah Scary, imaduck, Neil. S or Cassandra you can submit an entry to this contest. Those five were naughty and failed to submit final votes last month so unfortunately are subject to the usual one month ban. All you need to do is send this account ({ bré }) a little PM with the following info:

 

Your country name

The name of your chosen artist

The name of your chosen song

A link to an online stream of the song (YouTube and SoundCloud are the standard but if you want to be Pavel and use a different site, feel free)

A link to an mp3 download for your entry

 

I won't refuse your entry or anything if you fail to provide any of this stuff but do expect a harassing PM in return if you leave any of it out, especially the mp3 (don't be that guy (or more accurately one of those 30 guys) that leaves me to locate an mp3 for you and as a result you end up with a crappy mp3 in the packs).

 

In addition this contest will see the return of semi-final recaps again so to make my job easier and to give your song a better reflection I ask for you to pick out a ~25-35 second segment of your song that you want to appear in the recaps. I know none of you first minute confirmers will actually read this before confirming despite the subtitle so no worries if you leave this part out, I'll harass reply to you for that as well. If you decide to leave it up to me then I apologise if I end up putting a crappy part in the recaps.

 

As the reigning champions Persephonia will qualify for the grand final automatically. Florina will also have a chance to auto-qualify but only if there are an even number of entrants come the closing time (which, by the way, is 23:59 BST on Saturday the 6th of September, 2014). Everyone else will be drawn into one of two semi-finals and 15 songs from each semi-final will also make the grand final.

THE GOLDEN RULES

^{(aka the parts that you all know by now but still keep ignoring)}

 

1. PLEASE check your entry against the veto framework and make sure you aren't sending a song that's just gonna be rejected immediately. My advice is if you think it's even in danger, don't send it. There are plenty more songs out there and everyone has more fun when we're all inspired (especially the poor mods who have to do all of this vetoing business).

2. Also make sure you don't send a song that's already been sent. If in doubt check this thread which contains a more or less up to date list of the songs that have been entered.

3. If you want to, for any reason, send a track by any of the following artists: Jay Dabhi, Moises Modesto, Vanic, machineheart, Mr.Kitty then don't because they're banned for a month after their top 3 finishes in LXVII.

4. No Eurovision songs. I don't know why you'd even want to send one of those, but regardless don't.

5. You can't send the same artist that you sent last month. You can however send *an* artist that was sent last month as long as it wasn't yours. But don't do that either.

Forgot about this at first ~ sent my entry on to the important forces of Persephonia. BRING ON OUR 3RD CONSECUTIVE DNQ (or, hopefully, some light at the end of the tunnel).

I haven't had time to check through all of the confirmations so far for clashes and I have to go out for a bit now so this info may not be posted until tomorrow, sorry if so (will try and get it done tonight tho). There aren't any clashes in the first few entries at least!!!
