Posted November 3, 20168 yr IjK_h57ixPw The first official teaser trailer for the next War for the Planet of the Apes, due for release 14 July 2017 :w00t: One of my favourite movie franchise the last 2 movies were excellent, so hyped for this.
December 9, 20168 yr First official trailer! hHUBpMznFJI Not seen it yet, but I'm really excited for this! <3
December 10, 20168 yr I always sort of forget about this series but it's one of the most consistently good and smartest ones that is still going. For that reason I'm looking forward to this
March 30, 20178 yr JDcAlo8i2y8 This looks really good. Could be one of the best movie trilogies in recent years!
March 30, 20178 yr Agreed. It really does look fantastic. I was just thinking the other day "when are we gonna get another trailer"! Excited for this.
May 16, 20178 yr qxjPjPzQ1iU Final trailer for this has arrived. Looks as though it could really be something special. Doesn't seem to be all that much hype surrounding it though at the moment in comparison to the other upcoming blockbusters :(
July 10, 20178 yr Author Looking forward to this, I think this is going to be massive, plus its the last of the series, it could really rake it in at the box office.
July 11, 20178 yr It's only on in 3D on its first three days which is ridiculous Edited July 11, 20178 yr by Hadji
July 15, 20178 yr A great way to end a phenomenal trilogy, it's nice to see blockbusters like this with minimal dialogue and rather small-scale interaction and slow pacing to go along side the massive superhero blockbusters too (even though I adore those too). The CGI in this is really brilliant, especially Maurice who looked so realistic and it's hard to ignore the excellent work that Andy Serkis does in the role of Caesar too. Shout out to to Michael Giacchino for an absolutely fantastic score as well, it really elevates the material for being suited PERFECTLY for every scene - it was emotional, exciting, scary, moving in all the right places. Perhaps with a more critical mindset, there may have been a few little plot holes. It didn't make much sense to keep the leader of an ape rebellion alive in the first place and even if you do, I'm sure you'd keep him a lot more isolated than he was. Plus, if you were Woody Harrelson's character and so worried about catching the mute virus, then it's an odd decision to pick up a random doll with blood splattered on it :drama:  It made for a very good twist ending though and I loved the interaction between Caesar and him when he couldn't speak. I loved the "donkey" character's redemption arc too (seeing him get shot immediately after was so brutal :drama:). Overall though, it is a fantastic film and I really hope they do decide to continue the franchise and perhaps remake the original film seeing as that's where they've lead it into. - it would be really interesting to compare the two!
July 19, 20178 yr Just got back from seeing this and I thought it was really good! Not quite 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes', but an excellent conclusion to this trilogy! Like Josh said, it was a real emotional rollercoaster ride. I think you experience every emotion through this. For my criticism it would be that the camps that the Apes were left in, weren't exactly well guarded... And I don't get how we're supposed to believe that the Apes had managed to all escape without having at least one guard notice them doing it!! I cannot get over the CGI though! Outstanding. I think it's all in the eyes. If you can get the eyes right in any CGI character, then that's honestly about 90% of the work done, imo. The introduction of Bad Ape was amazing. He reminded me a lot of Dobby from Harry Potter  So adorable. <3 8/10 for me!
July 19, 20178 yr Was enjoying this with a friend until we had to leave halfway through because she found it boring and complained of being unwell.
July 21, 20177 yr Possibly not as good as the previous film, the first half is too slow-paced for me, but a decent effort overall 6.5/10 I liked the Bad Ape character, though in the scene where he pops his head up from the tunnel my friend said, "oh it's you!" to me and then chocked quietly convulsing with laughter. How rude! My ears aren't quite that big! I like the Nova character, Bad Ape & his coats, and the ongoing Maurice tribute to the original Dr Zaius actor, and the virus was totally a good move to lead into the original but in a way I hope they dont do a remake of the original - the Apes would have to become the baddies were that to happen, and the original is pretty stunning as it is, monkey suits or not.
July 22, 20177 yr Loved this movie once and will love this upcoming release more. This would surely be another breathtaking blockbuster rebooted trilogy.
July 22, 20177 yr Fantastic flick and I'd say I preferred this to Dawn. (Haven't seen Rise so can't compare to that). Amazing cinematography & despite its length didn't feel like it dragged at any point.
July 24, 20177 yr Author Probably the weakest of the 3 movies, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, Woody Harrelson was brilliant, the imagery and special effects were superb throughout. A little homage to the original movie, with the character of the mute girl Nova, she was played by Linda Harrison in the original movie, so its got potential for the story to move on with the character of Cornelius, if the producers decide to do a fourth movie with the Apes franchise. Its basically gone full circle now, I would love a fourth movie with Cornelius and Nova, say it picks up 20 years later.
July 29, 20177 yr Haven't seen this new one yet but weren't Nova & Cornelius etc long into the future when generations had passed??
July 29, 20177 yr Looking forward to this, I think this is going to be massive, plus its the last of the series, it could really rake it in at the box office. Was top of the box office for three weeks I think!
