Chart Commentary

"Welcome to the first Top 40 Countdown by awardinary for 2021!

As always, I want to start by thanking the following 3 people who viewed and commented on my personal chart last week: JSG, Sergej and Sven10. Responses to your comments are in the below post.

Having managed to steal the Christmas #1 for 2020, Becky Hill drops a couple of places this week meaning that a new #1 has been assigned! It is in fact a second stint at the top for Shane Codd with Get Out My Head. This becomes the third week in total that it has managed to be at the top. Former #1 Regardless moves up one place to #2 this week. Also peaking inside the Top 5 this week is Easier by CamelPhat and Prisoner by Miley Cyrus & Dua Lipa. The latter is also the biggest climber this week moving up 15 places, and becomes my first Track of the Week of 2021.

For this first chart of the new year, the highest new entry is by Rina Sawayama with her single LUCID. It sits comfortably inside the Top 10 this week in front of songs by Steps, Dua Lipa & Tiësto.

Just missing out on a Top 10 place this week is Ava Max who has climbed to #11. There are also new entries further down in this week’s chart from dance acts Disclosure, David Guetta & MORTEN & Timmy Trumpet.

The joint biggest faller of the week, each dropping eleven places, is Disciples and Becky Hill who narrowly escapes dropping out of the Top 40 after just a single week. However, it is the end for MEDUZA, Marshmello & Imanbek, Imanbek & Martin Jenson and finally LadBaby who all exit this week.
