Welcome to Week 6 of these polls!

We have a three-way tie for this week's favourite, so I've included a tiebreaker vote this week to choose an outright winner!

The least favourite was Marie Osmond - Paper Roses with 7 votes, making her the first female artist to 'win' this particular accolade.

Favourites

Really strong week so I tried to have some self control by limiting to my top 5:

Minnie Riperton - Lovin' You

Greg Lake - I Believe In Father Christmas

The Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen

Boney M - Ma Baker

Space - Magic Fly

Least favourites

Joe Tex - Ain't Gonna Bump No More

Showaddywaddy - You Got What It Takes

(Our Kid also naff but can never seem to remember how that goes while the lyrics of the other two are sticking in my brain for the wrong reasons)

Tiebreaker

Sparks - This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us

A big part of me wants Greg Lake to win just for yet another unseasonal play :basil:

Voted for my top 3 of Greg, Sex Pistols and Space but I really like all of those this week bar Rod.

Joe Tex for the worst, unless I can write in Adam Faith again :funky: Justice for 'Convoy', that's my post-session earworm of the week lmao.

And Elton for the tiebreak.

Lovin' You, I Believe in Father Christmas, Sir Duke and God Save the Queen from what I already knew, and Magic Fly which was a fantastic discovery that I'm not sure where it's been all my life <3 (although I caught up on the two I missed and the full eight-minute version of Fanfare for the Common Man is brilliant, that might just be my favourite discovery this week but nice to have two great ones anyway!)

Our Kid very easily for the worst, Joe Tex was quite fun and C.W McCall was an earworm so I object to that being here x The other two were respectively odd and forgettable.

Sparks for the tiebreaker.

I voted for I Believe In Father Christmas, Somebody To Love and Magic Fly.

You Got What It Takes for worst song and This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us for the tie-break.

yet again I've voted for the records I forked out money for at the time and that topped my charts, Greg lake the greatest Xmas record ever bar none, not even close, Magic Fly, the next synth masterpiece after Donna Summer/Giorgio's game changer, and that sounded like it'd dropped in through a timewarp from the future, and Blondie, cos it was new wave fun. I love all the candidates bar Sex Pistols, all of their other singles were better, not least the pounding snarling impact that was Anarchy In The UK.

Again, I like all the worst options, but Our Kid is the least of a decent bunch. Laurel & hardy gets on your nerves when it's been on the radio for months, but it's got a 30's charm to it. Joe wasnt exactly svelt when he had the hit, so kettle/frying pan situation but a funk groove. Showaddywaddy new release records followed the same pattern - instant familiarity catchiness, then got bored with it 2 weeks later. Still say their own early songs were the best, Hey Rock N Roll, Hey Mr Xmas (apart from Under The Moon Of Love, Three Steps To heaven, Heartbeat).

Sparks to win the tiebreak, if I'm forced to pick one... :D
