How can the vid kill the song :o

I really don't understand all the hate towards the vid, I love it!

I don't hate the video, it's just blank and the song deserved a better video. I am positive they could have came up with better had they actually tried and made the effort.

You can't be serious. I don't understand how you can look at that video and think that there was no trying, and no effort put into it. That's ludicrous. The video may not be to everyone's taste, but a lot of people, me included, find it striking, haunting and beautiful. An it clearly had some considerable thought behind it.

So many people have mentioned how they expected a summery, bright and cheerful video for this, but that doesn't make sense. The song isn't bright and cheerful. I think the mood of the video fits perfectly. It's dark and sombre, which is what I was hoping for all along.

I adore this video, just as much as I loved Bad Romance and Telephone when they came out.

When the Bad Romance and Telephone videos premiered I watched them on repeat many many times. Alejandro has not had that same "once you pop you can't stop" effect on me. I'm trying to work out why. I think it's because the length is unecessary, there's a lot of repetition of the same parts of the song which I find boring and don't understand the reasoning for. As a piece of pop art it's interesting and visually intruiging but as a pop music video, it doesn't work. Just my opinion.
With the midweeks in its looking highly unlikely alejandro will go top 5, still it has done well and has alot of sales left in yet regardless if it goes top 5 or not.

I do love the song, but tbh Its nowhere near her strongest and imo Top 10 is all it deserves

DITD, Speechless and Monster are all better imo!

i love speechless but for me aljenadro was the right choice of single, alejandro is also boosting album sales again which is great news, i really think the fame monster has a good chance of eventually getting to 3 million UK sales.

I'd have REALLY hated 'Speechless' to get released. After this I'd only really say 'Dance In The Dark' or 'Monster' deserve a single release from what's left.

I know we're not getting one so it's a slightly irrelevant point, but 'Speechless' is easily the worst on there.

I only like Speechless live. The album version is a little too country twee for my taste. The only other song that could have been a single was DITD in my opinion.

However, I think Alejandro has done amazingly well. She really is selling records like no other artist at the moment. I too think she'll eventually hit 3 million for the album in the UK, but it's just amazing that 2 million already own it and yet every single continues to sell very well in these days of poor single sales.

All this 'Speechless' hate, from people who seem to adore 'Alejandro', is depressing me

:(

Speechless should only get a release if there were going to be 7 singles from the Monster version of the album  The only thing worse IMO is Teeth
Alejandro is doing well on the whole, and im sure it will manage 250,000 - 300,000 sales in the UK which is great considering its from an album that has sold so much.

This has peaked at #1 in a few countries now. I think the UK has given it a pretty dire peak to be honest.

As for the video, the whole video is a bit much, but the edit 4Music use which cuts down the unnecessary ending whilst keeping all the controversial bits! I much prefer this version as 'Don't Call My Name, Don't Call My Name, Alejandro' doesn't get repeated a million times.

I know, i was hoping it would go top 5 :( It was the new releases out the same week that pushed it down though, Kickstarts, All The Lovers, Love The Way You Lie etc. Oh well, at least it went top 10 :)
