'Gimmie Dat' is H-O-T :o Go Cici!

ADORE IT!! :o :wub: Love when she goes slower as well, definelty her best song since well ... 'Work', but still. :P

 

Maybe 'Ride' will be her 'Never Ever' / 'Go Girl' and 'Gimme That' will be her 'Love, Sex, Magic'. :D Well here's hoping anyway, to see she got as high as #46 on iTunes with virtually no support whatsoever, shows she still has some kind of fanbase and has potential to do well.

'Gimme Dat' is HOT! Although it's just a more watered down version of 'Work', but it's still pretty great. She's just proven she's still got "it", so why she continues to churn out $h!t such as 'Ride' I will never know.

How can people SERIOUSLY say 'Gimme That' is a great song? I don't understand. It's just noise... seriously, 'Echo' off FR did the exact same thing a million times better. Ciara used to be amazing at uptempos. Comparing 'I Proceed' for example with 'Gimme That' actually saddens me. She's gone totally to shit.

After having it for a couple of days and listening back to 'Fantasy Ride', I have to take my words back about it being better than anything on there.

'Work', 'Love Sex Magic' and 'Tell Me What Your Name Is' are better, although I still think 'Gimme That' is pretty good, especially considering how poor the rest of the leaks from the album have been so far.

It's just total nothing. I tend to dislike songs which don't have any obvious chorus, hook or melody - there has to be something. Ride seems like the world's longest song because nothing whatsoever actually happens and you feel like you could pop off and make a cup of tea and perhaps a sandwich too before it finally ends.

 

I'm not saying I prefer Keri to Ciara as an artist because Keri is only one album into her career and Ciara has a back catalogue with plenty of gems in but currently there's no doubting that only one of them is bringing the 'goodies' and it ain't the incredible supersexual call me Cici.

 

Can't Leave 'Em Alone is glorious FYI! And just to be pedantic Keri has had two US hits (Turnin' Me On was massive on urban if I recall correctly) and a #1 in Germany (a bigger market than the UK) with I Like. :D

 

Just finally reading through this thread, sorry to quote such an old post. I agree, it's a complete non song, I'm surprised it's done relatively well on iTunes given that it's had no promotion and isn't that strong so wouldn't be selling on the basis that 'a great song sells itself'. I have no idea who's buying it :lol: It can't seriously outpeak Work here can it? :/

 

Germany's the 4th biggest market in the world, behind the USA, Japan and the UK. I read that an average #1 there sells 30-40k a week, and the biggest seller for quite some time there, Satellite by Lena, is just past 600k, nothing compared to total sales of huge UK singles. Album sales are quite a bit lower than the UK too. Nonetheless, Keri did well to get a #1 single there, partly down to the song featuring on the soundtrack to one of their blockbuster films though I would have thought. Shame it didn't translate into a high peak here like it would have done had it been a US #1 (which would have meant radio would have been all over it), but it might trickle sell it's way past quite a few top tens from this year if it carries on its strange low top 40 chart run for much longer :lol:

It's quite unfortunate to think that Ride (a hideously dull non-eventful song that makes Rihanna's Te Amo look exiting) will equal if not better the peak of Work, which is probably Ciara's best song bar perhaps Like A Boy.

Ciara's career on the whole bemuses me to be honest. Five years on from her hideous debut single she's still moderelty relevant when artists with stronger back catalogues to their name like Amerie for example have faded into the background. Anyway, mini-rant over I cant believe this actually came within touching distance of the top 40, there was certainly no radio supprt or promotion and it's going to chart about a 100 places higher than most people expected.

I can`t believe how negitive people here talk about her new stuff! :mellow: Ride is a super HOT Urban song and my favorite song of the year, but it is not the song that will appeal. Gimme Dat is another super hot song! That song is not clearly a urban song, it is more dance with dance influences but i think that one appeal to a wider audience! And the leaks we have had from this album have been great! So i am so damn excited for this album! But i guess there is just few Urban music lovers here?

Why THAT wasn't the album cover I honestly don't know. It's brilliant.

Up to #45 on the Hot 100 and rising on Itunes and airplay.

I think that came out around the time of "Ride" as a buzz video. It's the title track.

 

I've avoided all the leaks from this album, only heard "Ride" and "Basic Instinct", I'd agree that it's nothing new or exciting from her, but I wouldn't say she's got worse. She could just be doing better. The Bei Maejor remix of "Ride" with Andre 3000 is so much better.

Album pushed back to October 5th.

 

In fear of sounding like a distraught stan but I give up. I really do.
