As XII shows, it's all the sweeter once it kicks in again :kink:

Have patience people, TBO is just three days away! I don't know why you're complaining about this TBO being boring seeing as we haven't even gotten to the good bit yet Addy :P

yeah if only I send Darin/DeLuna again for XXII :heehee:

hmmm and the good bit would be only if I've got at least 4 songs qualified for TBO :P

It seems only i don't mind the long break at all. GOSH. There will be non-stop BuzzjackSongConesting for a YEAR since december, you'll get fricking exhausted.

Agreed.

I'm sure you can all manage ONE MONTH from the whole year without discovering new music this way (though when the contest is on, it's mostly people sniping at how 'cheap' everyone elses song is) and without having to worry about finding a song. I guess it depends how you find your entries though, some people have stumbled across entries that they could have used but I'm no closer to finding a XXII entry than I was after XXI. Not sure I could have even found an entry if I wanted to.

Just imagine the contest didn't turn around in VI/VII and we've gone bi-monthly if you can't be bothered to nominate in this of the rejects competition.

To be honest if you find a song you want to enter and after a month you don't want to enter it anymore, it was never worth entering in the first place.

If a song is worth entering it doesn't matter when it's entered unless it becomes horiffically cheap, and how many songs go from not cheap at all to incredibly cheap in the space of a month? Maybe a couple a year....

I agree entirely with this.

The true worth of a song isn't based on when you listened to it.

+1

I don't really understand when some people say that a song sounds "too old" or "the time to enter it has passed". Does the song somehow get worse the older it gets, or what? :P

If it's a great song, it can be entered at any time, IMO.

but let's face it guys...if u send a song from unknown artist before anyone else have heard it, it's what we call inspired...as for example: I failed to send Vanessa Amorossi in last one which could have been perfect time and would have been consider as a discover by most of the people in here, and now after 2 months I'm not even going to bother sending her just because she's sitting at #1 in australian charts for 2 weeks now and I'm sure 75% of people here already heard about it...and even have start charting her in their personal charts.

let alone how cheap Owl City's Fireflies would seem now, when I had thought about sending it two months ago :drama:

the truth is, for those of us with short attention spans (i.e. me) a lot of songs get boring quickly, so whilst the 'it's not worth sending' argument has some validity, it's definitely worth bearing in mind that it's very easy to become less interested in a song in the space of two months that you were previously obsessed with...

Show of hands - who still wants to send Kim and Linda? :kink:

Not me, I found a different track and not announcing yet as it might get old too quick  it seems a bit old now.

I have a backup plan :magic: I still want to send it, but I have a mind to send an artist that I have reserved pretty much every contest as yet, but never sent (that is likely to get points from me in TBO...)

getting bored of it now, but I had never planned to send it anyway :P

I'm not even thinking about songs to send right now funnily enough :o the only thing I'd (still) have wanted to send is Fireflies, but I think the fact that it's US #1 and already in loads of personal charts, and practically everyone must have listened to it by now, make it supercheap. It would have been perfect if I'd sent it two months ago like I'd though about doing, but I picked Anna instead, which I don't regret because Music Everywhere is one of my favourite songs of 2009

I've also got a back up plan as well, it might just do well, its their new single but its yet to be released, so hopefully it won't get released until the new year.
A certain swedish female with an album waits to be sent :kink:
SHUSH SHUSH SHUSH!! I'm sending a Swedish female with an album, not sure if she's a 'certain' one, but she is MINE!

which Swedish female is this  Amanda Jenssen?

A certain Finnish female needs to be brought back in XXII despite coming 2nd in XX based on the strength of her album

If this is Amy Diamond IMMA SET YOU UP. Because i will hardly send such genre of music. Bluf(f) = :D

Amy Diamond is even more cringey than Miley Cyrus :heehee:

with the sole exception of the fantastic Thank You

There's nobody more cringey than Miley

You're definately judging only on It's My Life, there're some good tracks on her new (first?) album :o
