The album is pretty solid. He hasn't moved too far away from his usual generic R&B sound, as the lead 'I Can Transform Ya' suggested otherwise. I love the Eva Simons duet especially.

I think the album's pretty solid. Just given it a brief listen. The Rihanna references are a bit too much for me. I mean I know the whole incident will have given him good material to write his songs, but it's just a bit too much at times for me.

 

Good album though. I like how he's moved away from this typical RnB artist into much more now. He incoporates a lot of styles from other artists into the new album, i'm liking the experimentation he uses on the album.

I think it's a very decent album. Not as good as his sophmore, but much more creativ.

How on earth is it creative? I'm actually really happy that it's flopping. The lyrics throughout the album are pretty disgusting to say the least. Famous Girl is particularly shocking. I think he's actually damaged himself by insisting on addressing Rihanna constantly because all he seems to be able to say is that it wasn't all his fault and that's not what anybody wants to hear. Having the stigma of being a woman beater is pretty damaging in itself but why then try and shake off your critics by attempting to pass the blame onto somebody else? It's really heartless actually and I think it shows that he isn't in the least bit genuinely apologetic about it.

 

When you've got past the awful lyrics it's just a typical R&B album but then I've never liked him in the slightest. He has no personality and exceptionally whiny vocals. I see no appeal.

There's a couple of duff tracks, but overall i'd rate it a pretty good album. Stand out imo is "Pass Out" - a smash waiting to happen. He should've waited a while to return though, i'm not surprised it's bombing.

Agree completely with this. I think it's a solid album... there's a few dud tracks yes, but it's a pretty strong album. Releasing it around the same time of Rihanna's comeback was maybe a bad thing to do. Not sure how the album will fair in the US once the era is over, but there's a couple of tracks (like Pass Out) which will do well in Europe is released/promoted correctly.

I hated "Call On Me", but I think it is a very good use of a sample. Also heard it samples "Good Girls Go Bad"...but I'm just not hearing this :(

 

Hate "I Can Transform Ya", rubbish choice for a lead single, so should've been "Pass Out". But :wub: the album cover. Not listened to any of the other tracks yet

Looks like hes had to cancel his UK tour.. something about not being let in the country.. Surely they should have checked up on that before announcing dates :S A lot of my friends were going & had meet and greet tickets and everything
