Posted October 20, 200915 yr New series of 'Waterloo Road' starts next Wednesday! :w00t: So excited! Discuss, spoilers, etc.
October 20, 200915 yr I LOVE THIS PROGRAMME! Interested to see how Steph will exit the show! Edited October 20, 200915 yr by Robot
October 20, 200915 yr I heard that rebecca ryan (debbie gallagher in shameless) is becoming part of the cast in shameless some time in this series. :w00t: this programme is gold. last series was great except when maxine got killed by earl :(. (<-- does that need to be spoiler'd?)
October 20, 200915 yr From what I've gathered Steph might only be leaving for one series. I think Denise said on Loose Women that they were filming series 6 straight after series 5 and she didn't want to be away from Loose Women for that long. Will probably catch this on iPlayer, I enjoyed the last series.
October 24, 200915 yr Author New characters to this series: Executive head-teacher: Max Tyler (played by Tom Chambers) New girl: Lindsay James (played by Jenna-Louise Coleman)
October 24, 200915 yr Denise Welch leaves at the end of this next series and Im sure I read about some woman being cast as a new Head Teacher, which will be for series 6 or whatever it is. sooo Rachel Mason? is she leaving sometime in this next series? Edited October 24, 200915 yr by Mikeyjosh
October 24, 200915 yr Yep, she is, at the end of the series I believe. The new head will be played by Amanda Burton which is quite a coup. Jasmine has left already (sadly, I liked her a lot), and Kim is leaving again this series. There are a ton of new teachers and students being introduced this year.

October 24, 200915 yr i didnt watch alot of series 4, as i felt like the series has lost it a bit, and i feel like the whole merging of two schools, just comes across as a bit teachers series 4 for me. The show went down hill after jill half-penny left and has just gone down and down since then.
October 30, 200915 yr Who watched it then? Now Waterloo Road could never claim to be realistic but I think its now reached a point of pure stupidity with some of the plots. A private school and the roughest one in the area would not merge. The fighting scenes between the 2 schools were ridicolous aswell. There are too many character changes aswell and with Steph, Rachel and Kim all leaving between now and the end of the series, plus Jasmine and Matt already gone, Grantly & Tom will be the only staff members who will have been there longer than a series. Ridicolous. It really isnt the same show it was back in the days of series 1 & series 2 when imo the show was at its best. Saying that, I am going to watch the series anyway since there are some fairly interesting new characters.
November 12, 200915 yr oh dear..... a potentially interesting drama ruined by detail yet again. i mean, just supposing they DID pinch some ethonol and sold it as a home made alcopop... they sold... 20?... AND NOT ONE HAD BEEN TRIED!!!! of come on!!! what person (kid or adult) wouldnt have tried it?... and the whole apraisal thing... just where are the unions? the teaching union is one of the strongest in the country, the notion that this new guy could just 'get rid' of some teachers just like that is utter nonsense.. good potential, some great performances especially 'jasmine' from emmerdale who looks younger here then on emmerdale.. please dont do an 'eastenders' and ruin the show with ridiculous errors on detail.
November 27, 200915 yr I doubt Steph'll get a very dramatic exit, most people in WR just disappear
January 6, 201015 yr Has anyone been watching the current series? It's my fave programme now. Great series and very popular too. They've shown 10 of the 20 episodes and the remaining 10 in the series are still being edited and will start "in the Spring." I'd imagine they'll want them to finish before the World Cup! This series is the last for head Rachel Mason and Amanda Burton's the new head in the next series currently filming and due to start in October. Edited January 6, 201015 yr by Victor Meldrew
January 6, 201015 yr Author Yes, we are. :P Anyway, I can't believe Rachel's leaving! She's one of my favourite characters! :(
January 6, 201015 yr Rachel's great. I too am sad she's leaving. Not sure about Amanda Burton. Glad Max has gone though. Edited January 6, 201015 yr by Victor Meldrew
January 6, 201015 yr So I was starting to think that this series was the start of the show really going downhill but it definitely picked up again during the last few episodes and I'm back to loving it. Rachel is surely one of the best characters on TV (and I would!). Of the new additions I've loved Jo Lipsett, Amy Porter and Lindsey James, although I don't think much of Josh (and I'm so sick of Tom now), Siobhan, Luke or the dreadful, wooden Max. Looking forward to seeing how they'll write out Rachel and Steph (even though ideally they'd be in it forever)...
January 7, 201015 yr I really dont think much of the new series to be honest. The quality of the show slowly seems to be decreasing ( Series 1 & 2 were much better frankly. There are some decent new characters in Ruby & Jo, but honestly, how this show will cope without Rachel & Steph, I have no idea. Kim's a pain in the backside and Tom leaving would be lovely aswell. Grantly is clearly still a legend though. And the new deputy head finally serves as some eye-candy I suppose. The fact that Michaela has now reached status of most likeable pupil is rather strange aswell.
