Will Young's sexuality didn't come into Pop Idol, as he kept quiet about it until after his win. Will was almost sexless where as Danyl is more overtly sexual which obviously threatens some people.

What a load of rubbish.

Pretty early on in the contest he made the famous Boy George comment about "preferring a cup of tea to sex" quote. Which gave the game away to all but the young, most stupid and ignorant of people. If anything his sexuality was an advantage to him.

The key was that he did not ram his sexuality down people's faces, and let his unquestionable vocal talent and charismatic personality shine through instead.

As for Danyl he deserved to be in the bottom two for the worst version of Feeling Good I have ever heard. The definitive version was recorded by Nina Simone was a subtle yet quitely determined vocal telling the powerful tale cryptically inferring to the 1960s American Black Empowerment movement of Martin Luther King & Malcolm X. It has also been brilliantly covered by John Coltrane, Muse, Sammy Davis Jr, My Brightest Diamond.

However Danyl's shouty squaky as subtle as a sledgehammer mess was even worse than the David Hasslehoff version.

And as for Simon Cowell thinking he is the greatest thing since Jesus Christ err I mean Leona Lewis or Susan Boyle ...... hell he is not even worthy of comparison with Michelle McManus & not deserving of being on the same planet as the brilliant Adam Lambert who both did a vastly better job of covering that song.

I don't think Rachel's reactions were genuine. If anyone here watched the Xtra Factor over the weekend, you'd have noticed that Rachel has adopted this Stacey personality completely. She was acting like that when speaking to Holly with the other contestants, so I can't put it down to her being overwhelmed in the moment.

In a way, I don't blame her, it's clearly getting Stacey votes and she was (rightly) being perceived as a grumpy cow after being so moody when she found out she was in the bottom two both weeks. You just would try to change yourself to please the public. (but it seems to have inadvertently pissed off Stacey fans)

I thought the same Aaron, shes obviously changed to try and stay in. Don't like it though, you can tell shes just putting it on. Seems a bit desperate..

John and Edward Grimes received the highest number of votes from the public during last weekend's X Factor, it has been claimed.

According to The Sun, the Irish twins topped the phone poll for their big band rendition of Ricky Martin's 'She Bangs'.

An insider said: "It is extraordinary. John & Edward were miles ahead of any other act. Whoever wins the X Factor, you can usually guarantee they can sing.

"If John and Edward win, it will no longer be a show about great singers - it could be disastrous. But you know what? It could happen."

The duo's mentor Louis Walsh said: "Kids love these guys - everywhere I go they come up to me and tell me they think they're great.

"They're young, they're fun and they have the likeability factor, which is what this show is all about. I know some don't like them, but they should back off and leave them alone. They put a smile on your face - what's wrong with that?"

Music agent Jonathan Shalit said: "The twins can't really sing but they are likeable. If they win, it would be Simon Cowell's worst nightmare.

"Look at the success he's had with Leona Lewis in America. Can you seriously see him taking John and Edward across the pond and telling everyone they're the next big thing?"

It'd have the potential to ruin X Factor if they won tbh. I'd find it hilarious though. <3
The other contestants would be fuming deep down if the twins won and I wouldn't blame them!

Nothing to worry about. Eoghan was top of all (bar a couple) of votes last year. Plus the fact they were last on and were entertaining helped them.

It's funny though. They seem to be the most hated contestants probably ever, but are infact probably the most loved ones. LOL

It's time to make some money

You've got to love that X Factor time of year.

No other institution has managed such a carefully controlled media assault - not even New Labour in its prime. You can almost see their PR spreadsheet boxes being ticked with the same series of stories each year.

Contestants' romance - ah yes. Bullying? Tick. Judges' arguments? Yes, again. This week, however, we might have seen something new.

Contrary to tabloid reports, John and Edward did not top the voting. So why was it circulating that they did? Could it be a ruse to scare people out of make a joke vote for the joke candidates? Jedward are the

breakout stars, and will go on to have Cheeky Girls-style fame but X Factor bosses must dread them doing really well, and - in doing so - making this karaokefest out to be less about talent than it might like to suggest.

The shoo-in bet at the moment is Stacey for the top three.

And the winner? Voting patterns so far suggest people are split between Lloyd, Joe and Olly. It will all come down to who goes out first and where their votes go.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Very believable IMHO. Especially regarding Lloyd. :puke2:

Add to that this time last year they revealed that Eoghan was leading the voting ...... which turned out to be true after X-Factor revealed the votes after the series had ended.

It looks like Max Clifford's PR skills are trying to persuade the public that Jedward are a far bigger threat than what they actually are.

I just hope the Twins go out early, before the judges lose their power to send acts home, as I know the public will keep them right up to the end, when the last 5 weeks of the show, the public decide who goes home. Somehow I can see Louis will lose them in the next 3 weeks, they have had their entertainment, its time for them to go.
I think Im growing on the idea of J&E winning it would be hillarious!

I agree. Especially the way that X-Factor is destroying the charts in the last quarter of the year; and secondly because this year the standard of finalists is poor IMHO.

Cowell was one of the ones that tried to fix it for John Sargeant to win SCD and thus damage his rival show so karma is a bitch and now its Cowell's turn to be on the receiving end of his own John Sargeant

I personally hope they win in a way

I hope they won't or else its going to be a $h!te Xmas #1

It's going to be a $h!te Xmas #1 anyway thanks to Simon Cowell getting whoever wins to over emote over a bad cover version with the London Gospel Choir and a completely unnecessary key change crowbarred in.

I hope they won't or else its going to be a $h!te Xmas #1

Its going to be $h!te anyways

tbh this is the worst series of X Factor I can remember for a long time in terms of talent, only Lucie/Stacey/Joe are above average for me and those 3 are not IMHO a patch on Alx/JLS/Laura/Diana/Ruth etc from last year, I would put this years best about the 7th or 8th best last year

Agreed, this year is not a patch on last year.

I 110% want them to win now!

Norma

Song choices so far:

Lucie: Guns N Roses 'Sweet Child O Mine'

Stacey: Keane 'Somewhere Only We Know'

Olly: The Beatles 'Come Together'

Danyl: EITHER Aerosmith 'I Dont Wanna Miss A Thing' or Wham 'Careless Whisper'

Lloyd: Katy Perry 'I Kissed A Girl'

John & Edward: Queen 'We Will Rock You'
