I hope Poker Face will hold out, so I voted for GaGa! :)

I guess Poker Face will be nearing 900,000 by years end. I don't know, maybe 870,000? I'm sure it could at least sell an average of 4,000 per week by the end of the year (with the next few weeks being under 4k, then around Christmas time being over 4k).

The X Factor winners single would have to really go some to be in the high 800k region in two weeks. I don't think the X Factor charity single will do significantly better than last year's, perhaps around the same level of success (700k+?). As others have said though, this year's X Factor has higher viewing figures, so who knows!

BEP are currently 165k behind Poker Face; last week IGAF sold 29.4k and Poker Face sold 3.5k. I guess with these two it'll be down to the wire; both will surely have a hike in sales in the week after Christmas.

I'm not sure about Cheryl. Just depends on her consistency. She should be at about 440k by Sunday. Alexandra has (relatively) slowed down; including today's midweeks, Cheryl has now out-sold Alexandra (350k vs 336k). Therefore I doubt Alex would end up out-selling Cheryl in the long run.

I couldn't have said it any better myself.

I remember last year the week after Xmas, there was a lot of sales increases, due to iTunes vouchers been redeemed.

Also with BEPs on the X Factor show this weekend, it probably have a knock on effect... on IGF as well.

Another thing last xmas had the Woolies and Zaavi crash, I don't think sales at the end of the year will be as high as last year.

Poker Face as a track initself is the best, its a modern day classic, inventive and fresh proving itself as a monster worldwide too. it did it on its own merits not needing reality tv to boost it. simon cowell has to be denied he is getting smugger every year knowing he has a lock on #1s.
I think "Poker Face" will do it...I'm being more and more convinced that the Twins will win X Factor, but then won't be able to out-sell GaGa

Anyone but the awful Gaga!

Hence, I hope X Factor finalist(s) get(s) it.

 Anyone but something X-Factor related. The only worthy year-end #1s would be 'Poker Face' and 'I Gotta Feeling', judging from the hype received for practically the whole year, they are the songs of 2009 and Black Eyed Peas with Lady Gaga are the stars of 2009.

Well Cheryl will pass half a million this week:

290,000>138,000>70,000 her sales are decrasing fast.

The question is can she sell another 400k in 7 weeks and I don't think she can.

Poker Face has it in the bag. Noone on the X Factor this year is anywhere near the star quality of Leona and Alexandra. The only thing that will boost them is the ridiculously high viewing figures this year.

Also I agree with the poster who said this years X Factor winner has no chance. The winner this year is going to be terrible as none of the remaining contestants have star power. They will probably sell around 300,000 the first week then another 150,000 the week after if they are lucky.

I can see the X Factor Finalists selling around 350,000 in the first week but from there it has no sustainability. I'm pretty sure the campaign was so successful last year as it had the media behind it due to the Help The Heroes charity as bad as this may sound the media will not constantly pimp a charity single for a hospital in London.

Fingers crossed Gaga [pokerface]

obviously not going to be Just Dance or Bad Boys.

I'm also expecting IGF to not reach it.

Don't think the X factor winner will sell as much as Alexandra's/Leona's or even Shayne's winner single so not that then.

Cheryl is decreasing quite fast week by week so I doubt she can reach it in the few weeks left, and as for the X Factor final 12 :puke2:

i personally want Poker Face to be #1 by the end of the year bcoz it's the only song deserving it, i hope that the x factor charity single wont do well coz i want rihanna to go #1 :P - GaGa has to promote Poker Face again to guarantee the #1 spot in the year-end :)

"Poferface" has sold 5k last week, so with this week and the next 8 weeks remaining, it should bring its total to about 881k. She could even push it to 900k with some end of year chart show and stuff like that.

Cheryl sold about 500k in 3 weeks (couting this week), so she would need to sell around 400k in the next 8 weeks to be safe ahead of GaGa. That is to say 50k a week, for the next 8 weeks... so yes I think it's pretty unlikely to happen :(

I don't think the X Factor Finalists can threaten Lady GaGa, this year is weaker than last year anyway.

The X Factor winner could well do it though. Alexandra did about 800k last year if I'm right. But since then download market has even more exploded, so who knows... Hopefully not though.

I think the top 5 will be like this :

01 Lady Gaga Poker face 880k

02 Black Eyed Peas I gotta feeling 870k

03 Cheryl Cole Fight For This Love 820k

04 X Factor Winner 800k

05 Lady Gaga feat Colby O'Donis Just dance 760k

I hope Cheryl can beat the X Factor winner so she gets the biggest sales of the year for a British act ^_^

Don't forget though that "Hallelujah" sold a few hundred thousand physicals, I doubt this year's winner will be selling so many - though undoubtably downloads will likely be higher.

I'm hoping "Poker Face" does it - it's still at 55 on iTunes, and has sold well throughout the year, it hasn't fallen out of the Top75 yet has it?

'Poker Face' never fell out of the Top 75. And hopefully it will be that way until the end of the year.

I think with this record (below) the chances of the original dropping of the UK Top 75 by the end of the year are minimal:

South Park feat. Eric Cartman - Poker Face (Extended version)

Nice one. #1 please. :kink:

And I haven't watched the episode yet.

Just checked, it got as low as 67 - but rebounded to 60 last week, making it 42 consecutive weeks now.

30-26-28-24-22-15-03-03-04-01-01-01-02-03-04-05-05-06-09-11-12-14-20-24-31-26-24-22-24-31-34-38-41-41-45-51-52-58-54-60-67-60* (42 weeks)

Also of note is how fast "Fight For This Love" is declining, "Bleeding Love" despite selling less in it's first week- was well ahead of her 2nd weeks sales...

WEEK / CHERYL SALES / LEONA SALES / DIFF.

01 / 292,845 / 218,805 / +74,040

02 / 138,614 / 158,370 / –19,756

03 / ???????? / 111,978

04 / ???????? / 74,549

05 / ???????? / 57,954

06 / ???????? / 40,530

Hard to be certain, but I think Cheryl is out of the race personally...
