October 28, 200916 yr Author is paramore 'brand new eyes' and mika 'the boy who knew too much' still top 40? Nope
October 28, 200916 yr Really Hope Florence Goes Top 40 :w00t: Even if they don't this week, they definitely will in the next couple of weeks. ^_^
October 28, 200916 yr Even if they don't this week, they definitely will in the next couple of weeks. ^_^ where Did The Drumming Song peak.......like 54 or something was it.....?
October 28, 200916 yr <_< As i said before, because cheryl is getting exposure on the xfactor every week and alexandra only had good first week sales because she was on the xfactor the week before but now thats wearing off and she's falling. Plus, like i said, cheryls 2nd single is too good. Alexandra's 2nd week sales were obviously going to drop - as will Cheryl's (probably by a similar %). If Cheryl can shift 55% more singles than Alex, then a week after their singles have been released, Alex sells 30% more albums than Cheryl, who do you think is going to shift more long term? Put another way, if Cheryl was going to have better sales than Alexandra, she would have had them by now - if FFTL can't make her album outsell Alexandra's, what else on her album can??? And Alexandra's 2nd single (if picked from 3 tracks on the album which are outstanding) is too good too ;) ======== Put bluntly, from their single->album selling ratio:- Alex 187,100 singles -> 132,065 albums, or x71% Cheryl 292,845 singles -> c. 100,000 albums, or x34% (less than half ;)) it is quite clear that Alexandra is more of an album-selling artist than Cheryl.
October 28, 200916 yr where Did The Drumming Song peak.......like 54 or something was it.....? Yes. #54. Chart run: 97-54-64-77-96-xx To put it into perspective, with far less airplay and video play and only a bit of promo, here's You've Got The Love's chart run: 68-75-59-78-x-x-R88-86-62-69-68-62-81-51-
October 28, 200916 yr Out of curiosity, I listened to Cheryl's new song (3 Words) after everybody has been praising it so much, and quite liking FFTL. but, it's pretty crap. I think it has the potential to be good, but it just isn't executed. Will.i.am seems unecessary, and it feels like throughout the whole song it's building up to something, but it just..doesn't. on another note, I wonder when Christmas songs will begin to chart? :o Edited October 28, 200916 yr by Kiseki
October 28, 200916 yr do we know where Calvin Harris is with Flashback or if the album is back top 40?
October 28, 200916 yr on another note, I wonder when Christmas songs will begin to chart? :o Last year, the first sign was Mariah's AIWFCIY at #59 on week ending 22nd Nov, so I reckon it'll happen at about the same time this year.

All that tells me is that cheryl had a more popular lead single than alexandra and that we havent got cheryls total album sales for this week. Oh and if alexandra has 3 other very good songs on the album, how come they didnt get to no13 on itunes like cheryls 2nd single did? Think we are just gona have to agree to disagree on this one. October 28, 200916 yr Oh and if alexandra has 3 other very good songs on the album, how come they didnt get to no13 on itunes like cheryls 2nd single did? You can't seriously think that sales equal the quality of a song?
October 28, 200916 yr Cheryl's album gets a very good review in this month's Q Magazine. Four stars and some nice comments (in comparison, they give Rob's new album three stars and some 'meh' comments). I may have to give her album a spin! Norma
October 28, 200916 yr People shouldn't write off Cheryl in terms of how they think the album sales might end up - I wouldn't be surprised to see Cheryl catch up with Alex's debut sales by the end of the week. Cheryl will sell FAR more than *only* 100k.

Norma Ooh, that's very good, to say Q magazine is more indie/alternative, and Cheryl's album is a bit R&B/pop-ish. Any chance you could get me a link to that review? :)

Oh and if alexandra has 3 other very good songs on the album, how come they didnt get to no13 on itunes like cheryls 2nd single did? Think we are just gona have to agree to disagree on this one. Because Cheryl is a single seller rather than an album seller, where fans cherry-pick tracks from her album rather than buy the whole thing? Like I've been saying all along ... People shouldn't write off Cheryl in terms of how they think the album sales might end up - I wouldn't be surprised to see Cheryl catch up with Alex's debut sales by the end of the week. Cheryl will sell FAR more than *only* 100k. Its almost certain Cheryl will sell between 95k-105k this week for her album. She won't get anywhere close to Alexandra.

Any chance you could get me a link to that review? :) Q Reviews aren't online I'm afraid. Here's a few soundbites from it though: 'It sounds like she can conquer the world.' 'Stepping out on her own, the Girl Aloud locates pop's X Factor!' It ends: 'Cole can conquer the world as easily as she mounted Kilimanjaro. Only an idiot would bet against her.' Norma
October 28, 200916 yr Its almost certain Cheryl will sell between 95k-105k this week for her album. She won't get anywhere close to Alexandra. Why is it certain? Have you seen yesterday's sales? I would not judge until we get a clearer idea throughout the week... Edited October 28, 200916 yr by Colin
October 28, 200916 yr Author Weds Cheryl Cole Fight For This Love 76.1k 3 Words 62.2k :magic:
October 28, 200916 yr Weds Cheryl Cole 3 Words 62.2k :magic:  Is this 100% official? :o Alex was on 63k by Wednesday midweeks, so Cheryl has already quite overtaken her, while she was a lot behind Alex on Tuesday midweeks :o Shocking, she has sold on Tuesday what she had sold on the two previous combined (Sunday and Monday). Big LOL at the Alex fan who was already slagging Cheryl's low album sales compared to Alex ^_^ Edited October 28, 200916 yr by Bert for Lashes
October 28, 200916 yr Weds Cheryl Cole Fight For This Love 76.1k 3 Words 62.2k :magic:  This was why I didn't want to say anything - I've heard this figure and people were already making presumptions... Edited October 28, 200916 yr by Colin
