It would be UNFAIR to put constantly through acts that the public refuses to vote for. Okay, they can save a contestant once or twice if they think the public got it wrong, but it was the 3rd time in four weeks that Rachel was in the bottom 2. What the point to put her through as far as the judges can if it's obvious she doesn't appeal to the public. She already had a second chance, twice. Blame the public if you want, but not the judges.

completley agree, its the publics fault for not voting..

Tbh I'd actually prefer if it was just the judges decision. Sometimes the public don't even support the winner of the show [/LeonJackson]

The public may not be voting for Rachel now.....but I think she would be very successful if she was taken out of the context of X Factor and given a killer Single to release.

Well, imo Rachel was miles better than Lloyd. But, the public aren't voting for her, and thats the rules. The old Pop Idol was always done on the viewers vote. It was fair. Cheryl was always gonna save Lloyd despite the fact that already 3 decent acts had gone out. I'm personally starting to believe that Jedward should win just to give the morons voting for them what they want and I'll bet they'll wish they hadn't got it. It might also prompt Simon to drop the programme before it becomes an absolute farce (not that it isn't already).

And another thing that bugs me-Louis, always saying 'don't boo these kids, its mean, they're only kids.' If they're old enough to be in the competition, surely they're old enough to take the heat for being crap?

It might also prompt Simon to drop the programme before it becomes an absolute farce (not that it isn't already).

Jedward winning could potentially kill the show, that would be great since we need something a bit different now.

X Factor is getting a tad stale tbh, I prefered last year

Well I think Jedward should sing 'Rule The World'.

Just showed when Rachel fell... that was pure classic :heehee:

*sigh* I just don't get the public sometimes.

Rachel gave the best performance last night and tonight. (including bland Bon Jovi and mimers JLS) What makes it worse is that they let it go to deadlock, Lloyd's voice died on him twice in his performance, while Rachel was almost perfect. I know he had problems with his voice tonight but, let's face it, he wouldn't have been able to pull off those notes he was attempting at full health. (see any of his other performances)

Just UGH! Simon obviously didn't like her. I seem to recall him ripping into Leon, yet Lloyd is worse than him. (just a bit prettier) They've lost my two favourites in the last two weeks.

Any of Danni's acts were a serious contender to Simon's acts - so for the preservation of his own acts ... he did the right thing! I just so want Jedward to go all the way now! Sure ... if they win .... no-one will buy their records ... but I'm sure they have a future in children's television. Heck ... they're more entertaining than Ant & Dec any day of the week!

I don't think Rachel would have been a contender, but it makes him the last judge with all his acts, so it makes him look better now.

I really don't think John & Edward winning would be as 'devastating' as people think. I'm sure Simon would just give them a rough deal, he'd give them a cheap album and get it over with as soon as possible, like they did before Leona came along and made them realise some acts are worth spending time on. I certainly can't see them being given long to record their album or a return appearance on next year's show.

The only thing them winning will do is giving Simon money from all the extra votes it'd require to enable someone so rubbish to get more votes than the 'real' winner and it'll save him some money on the album budget. Sure, it might not be as profitable, but he'd likely sign up the second placed finisher and give them the push. (kinda like with Rhydian, I believe he sold way more albums than Leon)

Is that saying a lot though?

I do think that Jedward winning would be a blow to the show and for that reason I really, really want them to win. I've never voted in this kind of show (I'm basically just mean) but if I won the lottery next week - I'd give £50 to as many people as I know to put a few votes Jedward's way. Besides ... although they are absolutely rubbish at singing ... they more than make up for it in their entertainment value. And you know ... its all very well Simon saying (as he seems to forever harp on about this time) that this is a 'singing' competition ... in the past - when it has suited his act ... he's eulogised about this show being more than about 'just singing'. The guy wants to have his cake and eat it!

I have to say, some people in this thread are being a bit ridiculous. Deciding who the better vocalist is out of Rachel and Lloyd is entirely subjective despite some people who are proclaiming Rachel had a God-given right to go through. I'm one who prefers Lloyd; Rachel has the technically stronger voice, but it sounds so unpleasant to his my ears. On the other hand, while Lloyd doesn't have the same vocal dynamism, he does have lovely tone and texture to his voice, and for me, he would be far more listenable. In any case, this was the third time in 4 weeks that Rachel had been in the bottom 2, the judges really couldn't've justified saving her ass yet again. At the end of the day, this competition is primarily about the public's votes, and they put Rachel last, so people simply can't complain.

Lloyd will so obviously do something out of High School Musical next week to be assured of the teen girl vote :manson: he can't blame a bad throat for the other 3 $h!t performances this series so he should have gone not Rachel, I so want John and Edward to win now as the voting public wouldn't know talent if it bit them so John and Edward is the winner they deserve, god it's hard typing on a iPhone lol

Im actually pleased John & Edward are still in the competition.

They are funny, entertaining and always make my saturdays happier.

On the other hand, Rachel was boring, no charisma, no anything.

Plus, I didnt want another black girl winning The Factor again.

Leona & Alexandra are miles better than her.

I think...

.. The fact that Rachel is better and stronger vocally is completely irrelevant. This was her 3rd time in the bottom two, and even though she performed amazingly, it was time for her to go. What's the use on putting someone up on stage each week performing when the public just don't get it and are not voting for her. The person who is going to WIN the X-Factor will ultimately be down to the public's decision, and that was never going to be Rachel. Meh, move on to next week I say.

At the end of the day, most of the runners up will get a record deal anyway, JLS, Laura White and Bad Lashes are releasing singles this week, whoever ends up 2nd best and 3rd best somewhere down the line will end up releasing singles, even the Twerps, let them have their 15 mins of fame, in a couple of years time, they will be long forgotten, cough Steve Brookstein

Agreed Joshy.

While I thought Rachel gave an excellent performance on both occasions, this is three times out of four she's been in the bottom two. The public just hasn't connected with her, and that's why she's out. Regardless of the fact she's a lot better than Lloyd there's no way she was ever going to win the competition. Her personality comes across as very bad as well imo, and for me (and i'm guessing others) it's a turn-off for voting for her...

Lloyd is never going to win, but I dare say he'll escape the bottom two next week as all his fans will realise he's in trouble. But he is literally soso awful. He makes Eggnog sound like Frank Sinatra. Jedward are going to be there for a while too as well... yeah they're complete $h!t but they're good fun to watch and they're a MILLION times better than Lloyd. Regardless of who comes 2nd/3rd/whatever, I dare say they'll be the second biggest act after the shows ended. Apart from JLS, G4 and maybe Chico, has any other of the runners up made a career for themselves? I honestly cannot at this moment in time seeing any act other than the winner having a #1 single in the charts like JLS have already had, and most likely will have a 2nd this week...

OH YOU MOTHERf***ER SIMON. Trusting the public decide when they keep saving Jedward and didn't vote for Danyl last week. INSANE. As soon as he sent it to dealock it was obvious Lloyd will be staying. Stupid f***er Simon is. Danyl, Lloyd, Jedward are still in when Rachel and Miss Frank went home. Stupid UK. Stupid Cowell. UGH.

I know she's been in the bottom 2 for three weeks but it's unfair to the great extent.

Also, "they'll sell more records than her" from Louis towards Dannii comment was f***ing hilarious.
