Leona new single is terrible. It may be #1 next week due to huge promotion and the X Factor plug but it'll soon drop and it won't be anywhere close to her previous hits. Beside, it flopped worldwide.

I was refraining from posting anything negative about Miley when everyone else has as I thought she made catchy songs. However, she has just destroyed all her music credibility with her retarded interview. Main points from the interview.

 

- Claims the world is obsessed with her cancelling Twitter

- Has never heard a Jay Z song yet references him in her new song [seriously who hasn't heard a Jay Z song that works in the music industry]

- She doesn't like pop music [yet your entire career is based around selling it]/

- Later contradicts herself by stating she loves Britney.

Miley Cyrus never had any credibility. Who cares? She still will be tremendously popular all over the world, she has already been in countless scandals and her popularity hasn't been hit a bit. She's dumb but she has charisma and a huge fanbase so she'll stick around. Besides, props for her to being CLEAR she does not write her own songs. Many huge artists (Beyonce for example) force producers to include her in the writing credits even though she does not writer her own songs (according to numerous reports she's not even in the room. A song from Victoria Beckham solo career appeared one of her CDs with her name among the songwriters) and Miley does not do that so good for her.

If either Kesha or Black Eyed Peas beat Leona next week I'm definitely sticking my head in the oven :P

As much as I love Leona's new song, I actually hope she doesn't get #1 for some reason. I'd much rather Ke$ha or Sugababes for that matter be #1...though the latter is VERY unlikely.

i hope the Sugababes reach number 1 with their amazing pop classic 'About a girl' (even it is unlikely).. it's their best most-instant tune since 'About you now'... :dance:

it didn't flop anywhere yet... it's still climbing up the US and canadian charts...and wasn't released yet in Europe.

iTunes pop bars are still lagging behind positions, but Jay-Z is up to #9 (that's the video effect right?) and Chase & Status have fallen to #7 :(

Still no Little Boots in the top 300? Poor girl, if it doesn't get a move on it will end up missing the top 75 completely.

 

Such a shame, it is a brilliant song. :(

I so want Kesha to be #1 next week but Leona will have it in the bag. 'Happy' is very poor when you compare it to BL or 'Run' but it is still superb. 'Outta My Head' is screaming to be the next single though! I seriously hope they're not put off releasing uptempo songs for her after 'Forgive Me'.

 

I think Sugababes and Britney are going to struggle next week actually...

I love Miley but she chats some dribble sometimes LOL.

 

While i'd rather sugababes were number one than leona, i think they are going to struggle to make top ten next week.

I cannot rule Sugas out yet but I also think they will struggle to make the Top 10.

I wish Paolo could get in the the top 10, then we'd see him rise to the top. And if he were to perform on X Factor (which he'd never do), he would beat the beyond terrible Happy to #1. Now that I've had to sit through the song on Radio 1 and 2, it gets worse with each listen. I have no recollection of the verse, her vocals are off-key in a couple places, and there's no hook. As usual, the over-production is there to cover up her vocal inadequacies. I see it tumbling down the charts fast and I'm sure the DJs can't wait to stop playng it. Really a poor set-up for the album.

 

I think the Sugababes will do pretty well. Catchy song, but not one of their best.

Oh the Sugas had better go top ten. About a Girl is absolutely phenomenal!

Sugas are number 21 on Irish iTunes - leona is number 23

^Hmm interesting. Ruins my theory a bit that Sugababes would bomb horribly.

Leona has two entries in Top-100. ;)

 

Sugababes won't bomb definitenaly, I'd say #5-6 for them now.

 

UPD. In Ireland Leona is #16 & 65, Sugababes are #22 & 75. Also 'Run' is at #83, 'Get Sexy' is at #99.
